Stayed at the VH for two periods in March 2014. The first stay I got a basic room at the lower level. All rooms have immaculate views, so don't be bothered by the room selection. However, access to all floors is via s concrete spiral staircase which can be challenging with people moving in both directions or if you've had...

I travel often and almost Never leave reviews but considering all the negative reviews from 2012 i read about this hotel I had to tell you guys the real. Lets be honest, Sosua is no St.Tropez...That being said, this hotel is the BEST place to stay when your in Sosua. I just got back and already booking my room for...

Sosua isn't exactly Palm Beach. The typical American traveler needs to reset their expectations here. Most hotels here are 1-2 stars, at best. The Victorian House is a definite step above. Great hot water (a big issue in the DR); beautiful view, pool, and grounds; and very nice room decor by Sosua standards. Quiet and secure. Helpful staff. Recommended.

We arrived on January 17 2014 to find the hotel gates closed and locked with chains. The taxi backed up and we entered through the entrance to Victorian house. We had booked a room with a kitchen but were given a room with a microwave! We found that the hotel was closed and that only one other party was staying...

I don't even know where to begin with this one... Anybody who has anything positive to say about this property - other than feeling horribly sorry for those desperate enough to have to be employed there - have got some drastically low standards. This place deserves to be condemned. My family booked this as a last-minute getaway through RCI. I...

Although the rooms were very nice, 3 people reported missing items from their rooms in the 6 days I stayed there. When they told security, they were told that valuables should be locked in the safe. The missing items were cologne, perfume and cosmetics. I never have had to lock up any of these items in a safe, and security...

What you should know: - Do not exchange money at the airport. Wait till you get to the hotel. There are many little places right near the hotel that have decent exchange rates. It was 39 pesos per dollar by the hotel and 33 pesos per dollar at the airport. They are even open on Sundays. - When you exchange,...

As for the room, the scuffed and scratched tile floor from the 1970s was dusty and peppered with beach sand. The tub and bathroom floor had coarse black hair from a previous guest spread about them. One of the bath towels had foundation or dried blood smeared on it. The closet doors, bedframes, and lampshades on the interior sides were...
