We stayed at Hotel Alegria over the Easter weekend, there was a massive stage with music blaring all weekend, we were pleased to be close enough to the action, bars and restaurants but further enough away not to hear it! Very handy having Janet's supermarket a minutes walk away, 4 mins stroll along the beach to the beach restaurants, everything...

I came to love Hotel Alegria during the 2 weeks I spent there in January. Super friendly, with very loving and kind staff, I felt completely at home here. Peter the owner is a great guy and they will neither pressure you nor hassle you to do anything. At the right end of the beach only a short scenic walk...

My friend and I spent 9 enjoyable days at the Hotel Alegria, which I found doing a web search. My friend is quite picky about where she stays, and was very approving of the Hotel. The room was at ground level with a patio equipped with a thatched table and two chairs. Every morning we would be awakened by our...

Thank you for the comprehensive review. The water heater on the jacuzzi has been working, but the controls on the jacuzzi don't make it obvious which button heats up the water. While we have staff on duty 24 hours that can help, I take the point that it would be a good idea to put some clear instructions on the...

The room we had was very small and it didn't have a view. It was very clean and the staff was welcoming. We had a problem with some ants in the bathroom, don't know where they came from. Close to restaurants and the beach! A very party-centric area.

Direct acces to the beach is a plus but during high tide, you will not be able to enter this portion of the beach as the waves roll right up the hotel boundary. Comfortable studios that somehow manage to stay cool with just a fan. The jacuzzi is also a fun alternative when you're beached out. Great location in relation...

You would be staying within feet of the beach on the quiet end of the bay. Tons of surfers and kite boarders and wind boarders here enjoying the ocean breezes. This hotel has a cool roof top deck with a great view. The rooms were nice and a great value at $40 a night.

Cabarete has an exciting beach scene. Very active kite-boarding community, a long string of colorful shops and restaurants, and dining on the beach. Carry you Mojito with you into the water and muse over the sunset! But locate a reasonable place to spend the night? Ah, 'there's the rub!' Hotel Alegria offers a resonably priced alternative to expensive condos. Some...

We saw the good reviews, and thought we would try it out. What a great hotel and a great price. And very good service. Enjoyed talking with Peter. The restaurant is awesome. The food was excellent and the service and attitude was very good. Can not believe that this little gem is so inexpensive. Now, this is not a big...

First of all, I want to start by saying how thankful I am to the owner Peter and staff. I left my purse behind and the owner was kind enough to call and email us immediately to inform me that I had left the purse. It was returned with everything inside including our passports! So we are beyond grateful and...
