This is probably the most beautiful place in Indonesia i've ever been in! We couldn't stop gagging as soon as we were entering the rocky 3 km road to Ijen resort and when we arrived we just felt we're in a paradise. The resort is located in quite remote place but THAT what makes it marvelous. The place represents Java...

I had one night at the Ijen resort but I wish it had been longer. The volcano trek to Mount Ijen is wonderful and the hotel is tastefully decorated, and has a glorious setting amid verdant terraced rice padis, like those of Bali. The volcano itself towers in the horizon and provides a good photographic backdrop. The food in the...

A stunning location, lovely staff from the surrounding villages and large clean beautifully located if slightly basic rooms. Good food (didn`t find it especially expensive) with an eager to please chef. The road up to the resort is obviously slow but this provides an insight into village life and its only 3kms. Take earplugs as call to prayer from villages...

The location is ideal : magnificent views overlooking rice fields, very good (and expensive) restaurant, friendly staff. Rooms ideal too : clean, nice, outdoor shower, wooden floor. It's an ideal getaway before and after having climbed the Kawah Ijen volcano, but make sure you arranged your transport, it's away from everything and when it is raining (which was our case)...

At the top of a hill surrounded by rice fields, this resort has really amazing views ! Unfortunaly, this is the only good point we noticed. Among the bad points : - The road to get there is really bad. It is possible to use a normal car but a 4x4 is recommended. Also the resort is really far away...

The Ijen Resort and villa's was most definitely one of the hotel-highlights of our trip over Java (and Bali) this year. The setting of the location is 3 km from the nearest paved road and can therefor (especially in rain) only be reached by a 4-by-4. Just phone the hotel when you reach Banyuwangi and they'll be happy to pick...
