A very good stay.. My room was comfortable and very clean.Had shower and bath tub.. The meals were all good..Staff very helpful and very cheerful... The only challenge was the tv channels which were had not much variety. otherwise the place is a good place to stay
I stayed for a night over the Heroes holiday. Clean rooms. Serene environment, for a town like Gweru l would recommend anyone to stay there. My disappointment however is that l forgot something there and to date no-one got hold of me or my husband to advise that they are in position of my belongings. No telephone number on the internet to get hold of them!!!
Sure, there are problems here. The rooms are basic and some things don't work (the lock on our door for example). However everyone tries so hard to try and make guests happy that it covers some of the cracks - we were moved immediately. The beds are comfortable, rooms are big and warm, it has a lot going for it. The restaurant on site serves huge portions with a smile and the beer is good. Come with lowered expectations and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
For Zimbabwean standards...it's the best place in Midlands to stay. Mosquito infested during rainy seasons they need to do something. A few shortfalls that have made the place average. Chinese food not bad. Breakfast is okay. Room for improvement.
The Surbaban Village is form twin peaks and the same with the Village Lodge. I stayed there for two days and it was the worst nights of our life. The place is nice, the rooms are not bad , with very nice bedrooms. However i felt the place to be very scary. Myself and my team member we had almost similar horrific dreams and we had to spend one night in one room together. I wouldn't sleep or book at this place again. It may have been coincidence but i was dsiappointed
I stayed at the Village Lodge for 5 nights. I booked one of their bungalow-style with thatched roof rooms. The room was a bit outdated and the bathroom could use some updating (the tiles were a bit moldy and the hand held shower hose was leaking), which didn’t bother me too much. I am an NGO worker and have stayed in very basic settings before. On my third night though, I started hearing strange sounds coming from the bathroom. At first, I thought I had not properly turned off the water and that it was leaking. I checked several times and everything seemed fine. The noise increased and I quickly realized that it was coming from the ceiling (there was a trap door to access the ceiling. I called the reception. They sent someone who opened the trap door, checked and said “it’s just…
Enjoyed my stay very much. The rooms were quite cosy and comfortable. The hotel could with more signage especially from the rooms to the restaurant. Though I only had breakfast I felt it was really good. Didn't try their other meals. The price of accommodation was rather expensive.
This well managed and beautifully kept hotel can provide for your every need. An excellent restaurant on site can even accommodate dietary needs. When I am outside my room I feel I am in idealized Africa, in the restaurant, Paris, and in my room a better version of home. There is even a pool as well. Enjoy.
The Village Lodge is situated just before you enter Gweru from Harare, next to Regina Mundi School It is set on sprawling land and you need a car to visit the restaurant from some of the rooms. Chose your rooms accordingly. The rooms are spacious, very clean and furnished better than expectations. The showers are amazing! There is in rooms WiFI with good bandwidth. It has two different restaurants, a mixed one where you will not exhaust the choices ona stay of three days. The Chinese restaurant serves a Chinese experience. For conferences, they cater very well; ours was given an exclusive tent. The resident band is fantastic. I have now stayed twice in this Lodge and will not hesitate a fifth time! The porice range is good
After or during a long drive on your way along Bulawayo - Harare road Village lodge is one of those place I do recommend that you take a rest and enjoy your sleep Gweru and value for money. The lodge is very classy and competes with hotels throughout midlands. I enjoyed working in Gweru due to my stay at the Lodge
