Friendly staff and good food. A surprise for us. We were quite happy with the accommodations. We did not use the pool, but it looked very nice. The beds were comfortable with all the amenities, hair dryer, mosquito netting and everything we needed.
great place to stay before your game drive through the Crater…..good food, pleasant staff and beautiful grounds……rooms are clean and very nice …no tv…..the grounds are covered with flowers and they grow all their veggies organically ….
A nice break in between tented camps & lodges and really nearby the crater.
A different world, a beautiful plantation with flower and vegetable gardens.
Only thing is that our room was actually too big, nice but also a bit cool and not so cozy....More
A very comfortable stay in an idyllic surrounding. Food was very good, the drinks very reasonable, & the pool relaxing. The staff are helpful, & some of the better trained in Tanzania & Kenya. This is a perfect base for exploring the Ngorongoro Crater.

The rooms at this place are AMAZING they are like HUGE and so tastefully decorated. They are an open concept with the bathroom open to the rest of the area but trust me it works, we were floored when we saw the room, I forget...More

I would never stay at the Farmhouse for the Crater visit. I use it when I visit Lake Manyara -- for the Crater I use Sopa Lodge on the crater rim. There is no reason to stay in Karatu when visiting the Ngorongoro Crater since there are several lodges much closer right on the rim -- Sopa, Serena, Wildlife Lodge, Rhino Lodge. All of these are better located than the Farmhouse for a Crater visit. It's wonderful, though, for visiting Lake Manyara.
