This was the best place we stayed at during our 2 week trip to Tanzania, and we stayed at some great places! We were made to feel part of the family, from the first hour! It felt like all the activities on the farm were focused on the animals and us. After being shown around, and "introduced" to the rescued...

We did the South Amboseli ride about 2 weeks ago now. Wonderful food, good and informative company, and very accommodating staff and crew. Felt very safe (and well fed, and welcome!) the whole time I was under the care of Elisabeth and Laslo and staff.

Ever since I was little, I always wanted to explore Africa. When my Dad told me I was going I screamed. When he said I was horse riding in Africa at Makoa Farm. I jumped into the pool. I was totally thrilled. When we arrived in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania I was in awe. Makoa farm sent a student to come pick...

I came to this paradise several times already. Makoa Farm is located on the slopes of the Mount Kilimanjaro between green coffee plantations and beautiful forests. Numerous animals are living on the farm either coming and going freely like the bush babies and the several groups of monkeys or are rescued and in medical treatment or simply are part of...

The Makoa farm is again and again the destiantion of my travels. Meanwhile, I visited this special place four times. The people are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is very familiar. The many possible activities make every visit to be something special. The hosts try to make every wish come true and organize a special program for everybody. In addition...

Beautiful place, amazing people, incredible work, and the happiest and most gorgeous animals. We went on a riding safari and one thing to note is that the horses are certainly not your average boring plodders but for us this added to the excitement. Elisabeth and Laszlo couldn't do enough for us and it really was the trip of a lifetime....

Makoa Farm exceeded all our expectations. We read about it on Lonely Planet, and thought that we should give it a try, since we wanted to explore the other side of Kili and we both love animals. The owners were very responsive to our information requests straight away and sent us detailed information about the available rates and activities you...

I Chose Makoa Farm because they made a very friendly and anxious to answer my wishes while booking. The first day I realised that it will be completely different. They need the guests to finance their farm. They did not give me the feeling, that they are happy to have guests. It was more, like we disturb them while working....

In reply to your review, we apologise for the fact that the safari did not meet your expectations. The reason most of our guests choose Makoa Farm is to experience the many varied and unexpected situations that crop up on an African farm such as ours: Together with the riding safari business, we run a wildlife rescue station and take...

The most special time, hosted by the most special people set in the most special place...really. I own and run an eco lodge in the jungle here in Costa Rica, I own my own horses, and I have dreamt of going to Africa on Safari for my whole life, so my expectations were very high. Great place to stay and ride horses in a beautiful and interesting area. The farm is full of rescue animals that are loved and cared for by many wonderful people. The food was always delicious and plenty of it. It was a great experience for both of us. Thank you all !!!!!
