Meremeta is the Godfather of Mafia Island! And Meremeta Lodge reflects his easy-going and welcoming nature. He really is 'The Man' and from the moment we arrived, both he and all his staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay here. The rooms are simple and clean and...

A funky personal boutique hotel , you are a 15 minute ride to the beach . A fee of 20.00 US to enter park . Food and rooms are well done ✅ this is a travelers dream if I ever did see one . This is what Zanzibar was like 30 years ago . See this bit of the world...

This was our second time at Meremeta lodge, now we stayed five days in early January (see also previous review 10th Jan 2016). The place had developed, but not changed and the owner, Mr. Meremeta with his staff were like before, superb! We were staying in a larger room than last time and it was simple but really clean, with...

We stayed at Meremeta's in February 2016. It was a fantastic experience. He was very kind, friendly and accommodating. When our daughter was ill he drove us quickly to the local hospital where we received help and medicine. The lodgings were clean and functional. The food was quite good and he even provided us with local cuisine one night. Our...

Nothing was a problem for them, they fixed fantastic activities every day to a very reasonable price. We snorkled 3 days in the completely unique marine...

Mafia Island is a beautiful place, but in terms of accommodations offers a limited selection, and this is also part of its appeal. Meremeta Lodge offers without question the best quality-price ratio on the island, rooms are very simple but clean, air is moved by fans (no air-con since it's an eco-lodge but a big ceiling fan would be a...

Don't expect luxury but the rooms are very clean, the food is excellent (thank you chef, I loved your meals!) and Meremeta organizes everything you ask for. It's not directly on the beach but he has a lovely private beach you can use which you reach within 10 minutes by bicycle (ride a bicycle is fun!). Whale shark tour was...

We spent a week in this wonderful resort and we were really, really happy with this place. The rooms are nice and clean with a clean toilet. You get really great food, and every couple of days the dinner is at a very nice beach, which is great! There is every day an activity which you can easily join. But...

Meremeta has everything you could need. It isn't on the beach, but free rental bikes get you there in no time. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, Chole Bay is beautiful and relaxing, I can highly recommend staying here.
