The accommodation is really nice. But I would like to inform about 4 important facts: (1) Because you are in the area of the Marine Park Mafia YOU HAVE TO PAY 20 USD PER PERSON TO PARK OFFICE EVERY DAY DURING YOUR STAY on the Island! Unfortunately, this information is not widely available in internet. (2) Payment system for Park... More

I have spent four great nights at Didimiza and I would have spent longer if time would have allowed me. If you are looking for some peace and quiet and are travelling on a budget, this is the place to go on Mafia Island. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The sound of the waves crashing... More

Very nice budget accomodation in Mafia's marine park. The bungalows are basic and various times we had to ask for water and power supply (which is provided only from 9am to 4pm, on demand), but it is quite normal being in a natural environment! The staff is very kind and very responsive to any need (also communication by email before... More

So, first up, this is one of the few places on mafia that does camping and provides good facilities to go with it...the outdoor shower is brilliant, specially at night when the fire flies are out. While almost every lodge etc. can arrange a pick up for you at (at great cost) these guys will send a rickshaw if you... More

I stayed here with my sister in August. It was ok.. the price is good and they do pickups from Mafia airport. We stayed in a bungalow, its a small place, they only have 3 bungalows. The room was nice- en suite, mosquito nets, fan. A few things didn't work but the manager, Ahmad, sorted them out straight away. When... More

We stayed at Didimiza for nine nights. We envoyed the place because of its atmosphere, its kind and welcoming stuff, its secluded location next to the Indian Ocean. Didimiza Beach Guesthouse is local owned and you cancer what information you need about Mafia Island.

I was the only person staying at Didimiza when I was traveling. I stayed for two nights. The food was amazing. The people were great. I enjoyed staying here much more that if I was at one of the lodges. There was a much more authentic feel and I feel like I was able to get a better sense of... More

Didimiza is a wonderful, relaxing and friendly place to stay. The huts are clean, comfy and cool with a fan, mosquito net, safe and a lovely balcony to relax on in the afternoon and evening. It is one of the few surviving places still run by local Tanzanian's who are welcoming, informative and helped me to improve my Kiswahili enormously!!... More
