We overnighted at this guest house on our way from Johannesburg to Cape Town. As we merely needed a bed for the night, we were pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail and the availability of the smallest accessories to make one's life easier. We were warmly received, wanted for nothing and had a quiet, private room with safe parking...

I stayed for one night only. I was lucky to get a room as a result of a cancellation. Reception was warm and friendly. The room was clean and pleasant. It had a double bed and a bunk bed. Enough for a fam of four. As it is self catering, there is also a small kitchen area. Previous guests seemed...

Stemar Self Catering Guest House, had everything we needed and a we received a warm welcome from the owners. We were even greeted by the dog. The backdrop of the mountain reminded us of staying in Montagu. We were a few mins from the centre of town and were able to have Karoo lamb for lunch and come back to relax...

We spent 5 nights at Stemar and it was a delightful experience. The owners are very friendly but not intrusive, the GH is in a very quiet and safe neighborhood, and it is an easy walk into the middle of town. Graaf-Reinert is truly a gem of a town (The Jewel of the Karoo) filled with terrific restaurants and friendly...

My room was clean and comfortable, and the bed very cozy. My daughter and I shared a room with a double bed and a single bed, plus there a full kitchen and full bathroom....

Stemar offers a value-for-money stopover on the long road. The rooms are perfect for families, but as a solo traveler I was pleased that a single occupancy rate is available (except in December when it is peak season). The kitchenette is well equipped and units have a pleasant verandah with table and chairs around the lovely communal garden. The owners...

After a long day of traveling, late in the evening and desperate for cheap accommodation, we were referred to Stemar. Not sure what to expect, the surprise that followed was much needed. Don’t judge a book by its cover. At first glance the house does not look like much, but once you are guided through to your room by the...
