We stayed in this wonderfull lodge for 5 nights. The setting is as good as you get with beautiful views of volcanoes, the twin lakes, sunsets and sunrises. The staff is absolutely great, friendly and always smiling, even if you come back from a gorilla trek with the most muddy boots and gaiters I have ever seen. By the way...

Amazing three night stay here. Fantastic unbeatable views over volcanoes. Even caught a glimpse of red glow one evening on the ridge on the Congo side. Worth the 40 min drive to Gorilla trekking just to be able to return here. Staff superb and faultless. Food very good. Open fires in the evening.

I have stayed here twice (and have also stayed at Mountain View Gorilla Lodge and at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge). My favorite, by far is Virunga Lodge! I absolutely love the spacious rooms, volcano & lake views, and I especially love waking up ABOVE the clouds! Views at sunrise/sunset will take your breath away! It's worth the splurge to spend at...

Excellent rooms - the Banda was as big as a full apartment. Good service from staff (Grimson, Jean Pierre). Food is very good but given the overall accom cost they should have more than 1 course at lunch and also provide tea time snacks. Dinner is lovely - 3 courses. Best avocado soup we have ever had... Really appreciated the...

An amazing lodge with an even better staff! You will feel so spoiled, attended to and ultra important and special. The lodge is wonderful, even though it's rustic. There is no power in the rooms but that is not even an issue...hot water bottles in bed keep you warm. It sounds like you wouldn't like it but it is so...

We stayed here for three nights to see the gorillas. The lodge is in a beautiful location, and the rooms are sizable and comfortable. They've clearly put a lot of thought in the placement of the rooms. A huge window in the bathroom for example provides a beautiful private view. Service was very good though most of the staff seemed...

A friend and I stayed here for three nights while visiting Volcanoes National Park to see gorillas. The lodge is in a spectacular setting with breath taking views all around. The bungalow we shared was delightful with a private and large balcony overlooking the lake. The staff were fantastic, the food pretty good and we were so sorry to leave....

Went here with my wife to see the Mountain Gorillas. What a stunning place. Great service, amazing views, delicious food, very comfortable rooms. Ideal to relax after a day of walking, rewarding yourself with a G&T while watching the twin lakes. It is a bit on the expensive side, even for residents but if you can afford it, well worthwhile.

I booked this as a three Lodge stay with Volcanoes Lodges in Rwanda and Uganda as part of the two country mountain gorilla photography expedition I went solo on. Property: The property sits atop an incredible vantage point with sweeping views of the Virunga Volcanoes and the twin lakes Bulera and Ruhonda below from the main lodge. The grounds themselves...

It had been a lifelong dream to come to Rwanda and in all I'd read it was Virunga Lodge where I'd wanted to stay so when booking and they tried to steer me elsewhere, closer to the National Park, I insisted it had to be Virunga Lodge. I was not one bit disappointed. To get to it you have to...
