Without any doubt one of the most incredible resorts we have ever been. I will try to sum up why. Location:almost two hours drive from Kigali (on a beautiful panoramic road which allows you seeing the famous thousands hills of this fantastic country) perched high on a ridge with stunning views of the Virunga Volcanoes and the twin lakes Bulera...

We were in Rwanda for 4 days and 3 nights through Gamewatchers/Mapendano Voyages, for gorilla trekking. We booked one night at Virunga and the next two at Lake Kivu Serena. Not knocking Lake Kivu Serena, as it was enjoyable, but Virunga was an experience like none other! The view is beyond unbelievable! You have your own private bungalow. The amenities...

We really enjoyed our stay, in fact we were the only people there for the whole stay! The staff particularly Gilson and Innocent were fantastic. The rooms are spacious and clean and private, each one separated from the others. plenty of hot water! Food was very good, Marcellin listened to requests and adjusted accordingly. The main area is very cosy,...

Beautiful views of this beautiful country. Wonderful hospitality, nicely appointed rooms, good food, wifi, local tribesmen and women dancing and singing, someone even got up to fetch me another bottle of wine at 2 am. What more can you ask for?

Comfortable and charming large rooms, big bathroom, front terrace. The main lodge has two terraces, each overlooking a different volcano - fantastic for lunch and evening drinks. It got a little cooler in the evening, so we moved inside by the fire for further relaxing before dinner. The tour I took through Volcanoes Safaris included a free massage at each...

We wanted to experience as much as possible from Rwanda in our four days there. This Lodge gave us a great opportunity to see the countryside, the people, the gorgeous views , the Lakes and stay in a beautiful cabin: eco friendly, but not so much that it became any inconvenience. The first greeting was warm and everyone was extremely...

Set atop a hill, app 1 hr from Volcanoes national park, this lodge will present you Africa from a totally different perspective. Views are amazing, nights are dark, one has to accommodate to quietness of the place. Food is tasty and fresh, smartly served, you will be well taken care of. Access to wine and gin&tonic is sufficient. Lodges are...

Even in the haze of the dry season, the first thing that strikes you is what a view! The lakes far below the hotel (you are up high at 2300 meters) and the volcanoes that surround it provide an amazing perspective that is worth the trip alone. In the early morning the distant sounds of the villages far below filter...

We stayed in this wonderfull lodge for 5 nights. The setting is as good as you get with beautiful views of volcanoes, the twin lakes, sunsets and sunrises. The staff is absolutely great, friendly and always smiling, even if you come back from a gorilla trek with the most muddy boots and gaiters I have ever seen. By the way...

Amazing three night stay here. Fantastic unbeatable views over volcanoes. Even caught a glimpse of red glow one evening on the ridge on the Congo side. Worth the 40 min drive to Gorilla trekking just to be able to return here. Staff superb and faultless. Food very good. Open fires in the evening.
