Drove down to Musanze from Kigali and apart from my heart thumping due to the thin but very well maintained right hand drive road experience (I'm from a left hand drive country so I really freaked out!), it was a smooth ride. Loads of hills and valleys made for some scenic views and after 2 hrs we came to the...

This has been my very favorite guesthouse in Africa thus far. The site is quiet and remote, but not so remote that you can't get to town easily (700 RWF by boda, 15 minutes). The staff are so lovely and joyful, and a lot of interesting artists from Kigali hang out here - the whole place is dedicated to art...

I had a lovely stay at the Red Rocks and totally recommend for who wants to relax and enjoy the quaint countryside, the spot is awesome. I camped in a good tent they provided me with. Very professional and friendly reception by Peter, the manager. Great hike with Hassan, who knows a lot about nature, traditions and people. Good food...

We (two 30 year old Canadian Girls) initially booked in to stay for 3 nights here. Kip greeted us at the front gate, toured us around the property and insured that we were set up with everything we needed and that we were comfortable. He went out of his way to book excursions and day adventures for us. The rest...

When you stay here it makes you feel like you are part of a family. This is a beautiful little hostel with a few rooms and then camping. There are meals served for lunch and dinner, there are showers, and of course wifi. The location is great for exploring the rolling hills of Rwanda or to head off and visit...

Do not expect this to be a tourist hotel. We experienced it as a very nice hostel. Rooms pleasant. Shared bathroom clean. Lovely grounds with curious local kids having afternoon cultural activity. Two nice meals in dining room. After dinner campfire made pleasant eve chat venue. Staffed largely by Ugandan interns from a hospitality educational program. They were very attentive...

This is a great place to visit. There is lots to do: eg. basket weaving with local women is great fun, dressed in local garb. The rooms are comfortable, mosquito nets present, washroom out of room, but clean. Loved Harriet, @ the desk- extra helpful & enthusiastic. Tour of the site fun

My favourite story is walking into the main living room of Red Rocks and seeing the thousands of handprints that mark the wall as some weird version of a Jackson Pollock and the manager Harriet telling me, with a shrug, that she just woke up in a mood one day. That feels like Red Rocks in general, this trippy alternate...

I booked 2 nights at this place, but ended up staying for 11 nights!! I absolutely loved the people, the location and the athmosphere, I just couldn't leave. The rooms are clean, I slept very well here, the shower is hot and the meals are made from local ingredients, very tasty. It is located a little out of town, which...
