Basic hotel not too far from briefing area and start point for hiking to see gorillas. No AC or heating with buffet style meals served during day and a la carte menu if do not arrive during meal hours. Generally, rooms and reception are dark with predictable intermittent electrical outages daily. Unfortunately, the wifi is often not working and extremely...

centrally located, simple rooms with the usuall average Rwandan standard interioer. Very clean! The bathroom is also nice and the bed was unusally comfy. A thicker blanket for the cold Musanze nights would have been nice. The restaurant is rather average: typical Rwandan buffet style for lunch and dinner- there are better options around if you dont mind a walk.

I have stayed at La Palme for two weeks in July, 2015 and an additional week in August 2015. The service is good. The rooms are nice with mosquito netting over the beds. The food is good as well. The hotel manager, Eric, is great to work with. This hotel is located right on the highway to make it easy...

We stayed at La palme hotel situated in the heart of Musanze town a few kilometers a way from Kinigi briefing point. The hotel’s superb location, spectacular views of the Virunga ranges in Volcanoes National park, and proximity to the gorilla tracking starting point ensure it is among the best-situated budget hotels in Ruhengeri, Rwanda. Ruhengeri is the nearest and...

Heading to Kinigi to visit Volcano Park? Then arrive here the night before and stay two nights. We climbed Mount Bisoke & were so glad we had this excellent hotel to return to (you'll be too tired to go much further!). Wonderful staff, clean and pleasant rooms (with good wi-fi!) and they even cleaned our shoes after they were completely...

The La Palme is one of the newer hotels in this area (Ruhengeri/Musanze). I have stayed here a couple of times for several days each. The staff are friendly. The corner rooms are spacious and have small balconies. All rooms are basic, nothing fancy but clean. A beverage refrigerator is included and a small TV is available with limited channels,...

We stayed here in April for 4 nights in order to do gorilla and golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Staying her would be worth it for the shoe cleaning alone! As we went in the rainy season most of our treks were muddy affairs. Upon our return to the hotel we were met at our vehicle by the...

Spent a week here, and really liked this hotel. My room was comfortable and very quiet, the restaurant food very good, and the staff were especially great. The back gardens were nice and the restaurant / bar opened on to the gardens, so it was nice to sit outside for lunch or in the evening. I recommend!

We enjoyed the restaurant here four times during our stay in Musanze. They were warm and welcoming each time, which alone was fantastic, but the seemingly endless supply of a particular Bordeaux we enjoyed, reliable wifi, and a delicious vegetable soup sealed the deal.

we went to the area for gorilla trekking. the day of gorilla trekking we checked out and was informed that we could leave our luggage at the reception and pick it up on our return. this sounded more convient. after a long day of trekking we came to hotel, it took them 30 mins to tell us our luggage is...
