Large camp ground but has basic chalets. We camped one night in the rain and booked the cottage for the second night. Good shower block with hot water for campers. Nice all day restaurant and bar. Very busy at weekends need to book accommodation in advance

We arrived late and were placed in the upper camp vs by the lake as booked. The scenery/environment was beautiful but general maintenance iffy. The general interior just looked neglected. We had 2 cottages and one was more unclean than the other, the bathroom had footprints in the tub, supervisor complained when they were asked to clean it. The covering...

We went for a private Banda (sort of an outdoor hut with grills over the windows to keep mosquitoes out) with comfortable and clean beds, full mosquito nets, hot private shower for a thoroughly reasonable price (~£10 from memory). Wifi was due for installation in the BLOODY CHEAP on site bar while we were there. The food served was cheap...

My son and I reserved a cabin at top camp at the last minute. Our cabin was rustic, all stone/cement, and very clean. The kitchen was adequately supplied, had a little refrigerator and window opening screens. It is very quiet. We never did get warm water for a morning shower. They will build a fire for you for a fee....

We stayed only for one night, and the experience was great. We brought our own tents, and for some extra money (it was just 7USD per person for the space to camp) they would bring wood and set a fire, and we also got a grill to cook. The bar was pretty good too, you can get drinks and food...

The location is great, it really can't be beaten. However so little effort had been made to make this anything more than a basic campsite that it lets down the potential of the property. The staff are friendly (Oscar behind the bar, and George on the gate are great) and watching the hippos at night, 2m away behind the electric...

Top Camp is also owned and run by the same Kenyan couple as Fisherman's Camp, which is down on the Lake shore. Top Camp house is a proper bungalow, with self-catering kitchen, fully equipped, dining room with water filter, bathroom with huge old bath and piping hot water, two large bedrooms, both with mosquito nets. Front room has queen double...

For the price that they charge, the rooms and the service being provided is way below expectation. Right from the check-in, this facility provides no help when I was hauling my suitcase up the steep staircase at the entrance. Overlooking many other small things, we decided to go for breakfast. Cold tea was presented that we had to ask for...

Lets face it, it was cold in the tent. And we didn't get enough blankets. The madras was old and the tents smelled terrible. I had hard sleeping because of other drunk guests. The service in the restaurant was poor, sometime you could wait for a 40 minutes or more for a ordered meal. And the dj-started at 6 am...
