Visited this RCI resort with young kids some time ago, and they have fond memories of the nice pools and shallow ocean with lots of seaweed. We self catered, so can't say much about restaurant food. Room was clean, but not up to par with most timeshares. About 30 mi. north of Mombasa, a little too remote. We prefer Diani... More

We stayed at Royal Reserve for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the area with super snorkelling and fishing trips. These were organised by the local beach boys led by Francis who can be contacted at www.krtoursandsafaris.co.uk the boys really made the trip for us as the hotel is suffering badly from the lack of tourists and is... Very sad state this place is in with practically no one there. Beach is terrible with small area of sand and locals bother you. Food was terrible in restaurant and with us the only ones eating, it took a half hour to get coffee and never mind the rest of the mix ups. Front desk not very friendly. Massage girls... More

So....we had a week booked at Royal Reserve. But as things sometimes go, we needed to move our arrival date forward two days and our departure date forward four days. Absolutely no flexibility from the Royal Reserve. Even when they knew they would come out ahead with only 5 days of occupancy instead of the paid-for 7 days, they would... More

We visited Royal Reserve for 2013 Christmas. The place was packed with guests. The kids had fun swimming in the two pools as well as running at the beach. We did our own self catering so we did not each much at the hotel restaurant. We enjoyed our stay and will definately go back.

We have visited Kenya and stayed two weeks at the Royal Reserve Safari Beach Club Kilifi. The hotel is far away and is one of the few hotels that are in operation along the coast, depending on the tourists betrays Kenya because of terrorist threats. At the hotel were very few guests but the staff and service were very good.... More

The pool was beautiful, apartment comfortable and beaches gorgeous! Staff was very accommodating. They provided an activities director who keep the kids busy and assistance booking our dive and snorkeling trip.

Royal Reserve is ideally situated right on the beach, far enough away from Matwepa for it to be peaceful. There are two excellent pools. Food is ok but our rooms were a bit mouldy and dank. I would rate this place better were it not for the completely obnoxious beach boys who seem to believe they have a right to... More

We have visited Royal Reserve many times. It has been passing through difficult times but staff always continue to smile. There have been many changes but the resort still appeals. We went on safari organised by Kenyan Smiles and booked before we went. We also enjoyed a day deep sea fishing. There are plans for some upgrading so we look... More
