This hotel has been completely renovated/rebuilt in the last year and is not the same place as in older reviews. The rooms are modern, clean, good beds, good bathroom. And my room had a pretty good view of some of the M’Zab valley. The problem is that there is no atmosphere at all. All felt very empty and no soul. A great place for business travellers or conferences but not for tourists like me. Next time I will stay in a maison d’hôte in a palmerie. Because there will be a next time - Ghardaia is simply stunning!
Incredible lobby, with huge Oriental rug and chandelier. Wallpaper in whole hotel is beautiful fabric pattern. Rooms were fine, breakfast simple. This place is very large, but seemed to only have a few guests.
This is my third visit to this hotel, first two ones where on Jul 2017, and now this month, and I sadly see no progress is changing stuff here, below what sucks about it: 1. Air conditioning which is central, really limited and bad, prepare yourself for a bad sweating.! 2. That small refrigerator seems not working each time I am here, I checked with other rooms and same bad quality dispatched all around! What's good is the location and the rooms big size.
We were at the Belveder for two nights. The first impression is odd. It shares a building with a medical clinic. The front desk staff is not helpful at checkin or anytime subsequent. We had paid for a suite. The room was slightly large but nothing that could describe itself as a suite like a separate, or any, sitting area or a desk. And the view was of a dark central building well and we looked at the windows of the medical clinic about 10 meters away. There are interesting views available but not from our “suite.” And there were very few people at the hotel based upon the few people we saw in the breakfast room, restaurant or common areas. We commented about the view but there was NO offer to move us. The breakfast was pitiful ...essentially bread and yogurt. It turns out our “suite” was supplied with a single towel and single glass. We had to ask three times (the last time I was purposely and noticeably impatient) until we finally got someone to bring us a towel so we could both bathe. But incredibly, the hotel staff told my wife she could go find the restaurant and get a glass there herself. Service? Not even a little. Stay somewhere else unless you are satisfied just having a bed to sleep in. …
