Uyuni town is a very desolate place located next to what must be one of the true Wonders of the World. And it's simply a gift of Providence to find an oasis of civilization here, a hotel that must be among the best in Bolivia. The friendly French guy who runs it has given every room individual, tasteful and comfortable...

We stayed here after a day tour through the salar. It was a great place to recover and recharge. The hotel is beautiful and very well decorated. Christophe was excellent. He was very responsive to emails and very helpful once we arrived. Highly recommend.

Tumbleweeds would not be out of place blowing down the streets of Uyuni. And I quite liked this, in truth. Unearthly like a Sergio Leone set. La Petite Porte is an unlikely place to find in such a town. The thing I loved about it was its sense of style. From the materials used in its construction to the use...

With an atrium-like courtyard, the property is fully enclosed which keeps out the dust and coldness that Uyuni experiences. The rooms are very thoughtfully designed for privacy and comfort. Everything from the linen to the soaps were top quality. Numerous choices for breakfast and cooked to top restaurant standard - definitely try the French toast! We used this place as...

Like all the others have said, La Petite Porte is an oasis in the wild west that is Uyuni. We hadn't intended to stay in Uyuni but Amaszonas kept changing our flight times, and not telling us!!!!, so we decided to fly from La Paz the day before our 3 day Uyuni to San Perdo trip, just to make sure....

If you haven't lived in the third world then landing in Uyuni at the airport and driving through the litter and sand on the wide streets could cause culture shock. Seems like the national flag of the third world is the discarded plastic bag. Anyway you need good lodgings to get your bearings when going out into the salt flats...

Uyuni is a strange place & no denying it! However staying at La Petite Porte was civilisation in amongst the weirdness. Good rooms, good breakfast, nice owner. Only downside is no wifi & as it's not a cheap place to stay would've really helped.

Thank you very much for the comment. About the WIFI: Unfortunatly it is impossible for the moment to have it because there is no more space on the band of the provider! And there is no other provider in Uyuni. I am on the waiting list. So until there is a free internet access in reception. Best regards to all...

For most travelers Uyuni is simply a place to start/complete a trip through the salar/altiplano [as it was for me] - i only spent one night at this relaxing hotel and so had little time to ask Christophe what possessed him to set up home here with his family - but thank goodness he did because this truly is an...

Really didn't expect to find this beautiful little hotel in a drab and unpromising street in Uyuni. The rooms are warm, comfortable and nicely decorated, although it's possible to be *too* open plan (toilets in Bolivia for example). There was some noise from the corridor when guests were coming and going, but all is forgiven for the sake of that...

From outside looks like any other house in the street, but once inside the visitor receives a lovely surprise. This B&B is a good place to rest after a tour of the “Salar”, and keeps you out of dusty Uyuni. Nice showers, warm rooms and a good breakfast. The perfect stop over.
