if there was a snow during our visit, our holiday could be perfect :) this resort is very romantic, feels like far away from civilisation a it is really perfect for families with kids, toddlers or school kids. very nice enviroment surounded with domestic animals and beautiful nature, outdoor and indoor pool available. rooms and wellness area were very clean, staff was also very nice. and i was really suprised by quality of food, which was literally amazing. only one inculpation - there was no slippers and bathrobe on the room (neither for a fee on a reception), what should by my opinion considered as a standard

The location of the resort is amongst fields so is peaceful and relaxed. You will need a car to sample the surrounding attractions - Orava Castle, West Tatras which are both definitely worth visiting.

We visited in early September with my wife, her parents and 9 month old. Resort is baby friendly!

The resort is relatively new and accommodations are clean and modern in traditional style. Other facilities include great new wellness centre with pool / sauna / steam room / jacuzzi / massage. There is also a games room - pool / table tennis / air hockey as well as baby / toddler area.

On top of this the grounds of the resort include large grassed area with benches, play equipment, fire pit area, bbq area which would be wonderful in warm weather.

The service was friendly - special mention should go to Nina in the restaurant who won over our 9 month old with her friendliness and attention! Thank you :)

We would not hesitate to recommend and will probably return.

Ps An outdoor pool area was under construction when we were there - adding further facility...

I had spent 2 nights at this charming resort settled in this virgin nature of Orava region in Slovakia. When coming there you feel like if you are at the end of the world and then the resort welcoming sign appears.

The architecture fits perfectly to the surrounding nature so you will instantly get that warm homey feeling. Villas are having cute names (named after characters in fairytales :)). Rooms and apartments are clean and nicely furnished (very tender romantic style).

The overall atmosphere is very relaxing. There is a playground, stables with horses (you can take a ridding class if you want) and relax centre where you can try several types of massages as well as spa (swimming pool and sauna, so DO NOT forget your swimsuit :)). Staff is very kind and helpful at any time. I could feel that they aapreciate their guest highly (what is not that obvious at some other places in Slovakia).

I was enjoying my friend´s wedding celebration here so you can organize an events here too. Everything went smooth and food here is also super delicious!

Also wifi is FREE everywhere and it is fast!

We've stayed (with my wife) one night (2 days) at this marvelous place.
The place is in a remote area (the car is a must). Access is not quite simple from Trstena (sufficient number of navigation panes).
We got a clean spacious room with floor heating, tv and a bathroom.
Kitchen is simply great, so you will enjoy the food...
The place has a lot of activities to do in summer or winter. You can swim in the pool, ride the horse or ski. The place is isolated from outside world, so you will forget about daily rush.
The place is also suitable for company meetings or presentations.

I visited Slovakia for the first time and was very lucky to stay at Oravsky Haj
I found it very friendly and warm. The saff were on too pleased to help.
The room was clean and had everything you need (including mini fridge)

The hotel had plenty to do with swimming pool and sauna. There is a good games room which i have to say was a pleasent surprise as you did not have to keep feeding coins into......
Plenty of toys for the little ones.

WiFi was excellent withngreat coverage inthe main hotel and all the rooms.

Overall our stay was very good and I would recomend this hotel to everybody.

This hotel is beautiful, the area it is placed in is totally out on the way and a completely stress free setting. The hotel reception and bar area is traditional Slovakian decorated. The food served in the resturant was fantastic, some of the best hotel food I have eaten.

the rooms are set in houses (around 8 rooms in one house). With 5 individual houses set around the resort it makes the hotel relaxing compared with the usual hotel blook. The standard of the rooms were increadable and above all expectations on arrival.

hotel facilties for children were great with a big trampoline, tennis courts and play equipment.

I will definitely be visiting this hotel again for a quick relaxing weekend away.

We have chosen Oravsky Haj since it was the closest place to Zuberec, our top destination this weekend. We have not hoped for anything too exclusive to be honest - rather a well priced good night sleep with a bit of relaxation. Oravsky Haj turned out to be something completely different. Way better...

The rooms you get are basically a newly built houses, totally fresh so you can literally feel and smell they're all new. They are clean, spacious and very very cozy. Each one would get you a terrace or a balcony with beautiful views on the stables and horses or endless fields. Oravsky Haj is situated way beyond the cities and villages and standing in the middle of it - all you can see is a garden and fields beyond.

Apart from the good night sleep, there is whole relaxation bit, a huge garden, horses with plenty of options available to ride and learn to ride them. And a SPA which is not huge but accommodating enough even for those who would have high expectations. A nice, free of charge swimming pool and jacuzzi + a variety of sauna and a huge selection of massages and treatments for fair prices. Did I say fair? Baah, totally cheap, 20Euros for an hour long full body message which my Lady claimed to be the best she has even had. That is a bargain, is it not?

Add to that, brilliant and friendly service, free shot upon arrival, surrounding smiles and fresh air... don't think twice :-)

As usually I have been there alone. Another business trip. Came at night, a lack of signes, but I've managed. The Reception opened from 7.30 am, forced me to pay at once, since I would leave at 7.00 am next day. The Breakfast at 7.30 am as well, so I got a sort of lunchbox. Wasn't really happy with this, but what to do. Lack of a coffe in the morning is dreadful. The room, was a big one, what made me suttisfied, internet connection was all right, comfortable bad, nothing to complain from my point of view, despite lack of a desk. I haven't used a pool, firtness, whatsoever, so can share my opinion. In the morning, I saw a beautiful landscapes, open space, really nice sourandings. Generally it is nice place, but need small changes to fit to all customers not only tourists.

Nice place located in the middle of nice and quiet nature. So if you are looking quiet place this is it. Rooms are located outside of main building what in same cases (especially in winter) could be annoying - but rooms are nice (standard room is little bit smaller but it was enough for us), clean and comfortable enough. Breakfast and dinner was perfect for this price level.
