We arrived in Mombo curious as to why it was so famous... After 2 game drives with big five and a Serval cat fighting a Hyena, what could I think? But that is not all, about Mombo! the people who work there are truly special, they all love their lodge, and Botswana, and they make you feel like visitors not... More

Here is your 5 star 4 seasons of safari. Our HUGE, LUXERY "tent" was unbelievable. Our staff and management great. Per other reviews, they know your name on the first day and know what you want to drink. This is a great camp. No, there is no internet, telephone, tv, etc, but what there is ( other than wall to wall animals!) Is a staff that anticipates your needs before you know what want, A staff that remembers your name, what you drink, what you like to eat, EVERYTHING , and treats you like their best friend, how... The camp really lives up to its reputation. From the time we landed at the airstrip until we left it was just perfect. On the drive from the airstrip to the camp we saw two lions laying under a acacia thorn tree next to the river. It looked like a picture from National Geographic. And the game viewing just got... Dear mountainhomegirl, Thank you for taking the time to write this great review for us. February is always a special time in our camps. The lion prides have been roaring across camp as they try and intimidate each other into ceding territory. On one particular night we could recognise the calls (due to geographic location) of the Western Pride, Moporota... More

We stayed in Mombo for 3 nights in March 2014. Combined on this trip and our prior trip, we visited 1 other premier camp (King's Pool) and 4 classic camps (Duba Plains, Tubu Tree, Duma Tau and Chitabe). I included Mombo in our itinerary this time for 2 reasons: 1. I really wanted to see rhinos, and 2. All the... More

Mombo is one of three camps we visited while in Africa. It was very nicely appointed, clean and very comfortable. If we were not there during the summer it would have been almost perfect. It is often said that as soon as you walk out onto the main deck at Mombo and note the plain dotted with a variety of species of game, you know you are somewhere special. Not for nothing is Mombo known as "the place of plenty." Situated at the northern tip of Chief's Island, the largest landmass in the Okavango, the camp's elegant design complements its magnificent surroundings, with the spacious, luxurious tents - each sporting a private sala - raised off the ground to maximise the views of the floodplain.
