Our time at Te'ora was lovely! You cannot beat the location and views for the price. My husband and I (and our baby) stayed in the Nui cabin. It had a lot of character and we felt like we got to experience something more authentic than if we had stayed in a typical hotel. It is rustic, but we liked... More

Easter Island & the Rapa Nui people were great! Staying at Te'Ora, a beach front apartment, made us feel lovingly adopted by the hosts. We had wonderful private tours. We plan to return Dec 2016 or 2017.

We stayed 4 nights at Te'ora (being renamed to Matavai) early June, which is slightly off season. It's now owned by a great local woman, Violeta. She was extremely helpful and happy. When you arrive she picks you up at the airport, greets you with a lei and drives you through the small town of Hanga Roa to your room... More

Thank you Sherry for your note. We are happy that your stay in Mata Vai enhanced your visit to our little island. We would just like to explain that both the Mata Vai Nui cabin and the Mata Vai Ra'a cabin have their own private kitchens. The smallest cabin, Mata Vai Iti has it's kitchen on the roofed patio. A... This was a complex review to write for a couple of reasons. First, Te’Ora has been sold, and the new owners have changed the name to Mata Vai. However, the new owners have other properties on Easter Island and have not yet changed the name of this particular property on Trip Advisor, although I suppose they will. At any rate,... More

We stayed one week in the upstairs apartment. I am still missing those wonderful views of the ocean from bed and from the front balcony. The studio was comfortable for two people with good cooking facilities. There was plentiful hot water. Linens and towels were provided including beach towels. The owner and manager were both very helpful via email and... More

I just spent two weeks at Te'ora. I was so lucky to find this place. I had booked a miserable place that I left on first sight, but a very kind taxi driver named Alex phoned to check if I could stay at Te'ora, and then he took me there. Very reasonable price. Very good facilities - I stayed in... More

We spent four days at Easter Island staying at the Te'ora based on reviews from TripAdvisor. We chose it mainly based on the friendly staff, however, this was not to be. Email communication seemed very good. When we landed in Hanga Roa, we were greated by the couple but they were not overly happy to see us. After that, there... More

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at Te'Ora in the Ra'a apartment. Firstly, when we arrived at the airport, Vai had rented us a Jimmy 4x4 (at our request) which awaited us. She greeted us warmly with a fragrant lei made of local flowers. Our apartment at Te'Ora was adorable with a porch overlooking the ocean. Such a... More

I stayed here for a week in January 2014. I had a great visit. I was collected at the airport (& welcomed with a lei!) and driven to the cabin. I was staying in the smallest downstairs cabin which was fine for me (single) but would also be fine for a couple in my opinion. I also had sole use... More

We arrived late in the night the day on December 23rd and we were met at the airport by one of the assistants named Fran and her daughter.
