If customer service was an extreme sport, explora would win all the medals! The Rapa Nui property had a fire disabling the behind the scenes services that support the guest facilities. Although they were compelled to close their operations, they arranged find other places for their guests to stay in Rapa Nui, and continued to deliver the full explora experience....

Although we were not able to stay at the Explora hotel, the staff went to great measures to assure our comfort. The guides and expeditions were superb. The island is magical. There was a great deal of flexibility to meet our requests.

The mark of a great hotel is the way it handles a problem. When Explora Rapa Nui emailed to say that they had lost all their generator systems and it would not be possible for us to stay there, we replied that our itinerary in South America made it vital that we came to Easter Island. Whilst some people were...

This was a trip that held many surprises. Much more than fascinating stone statues and intriguing history, the island is a wonderful blend of perfect climate, gorgeous nature, hills, valleys, sky and ocean.

We were due to stay here last week and were alarmed to be told that fire where the generators were housed had forced them to close for some time due to loss of power. However, the management and staff went out of their way, above and beyond to find us alternative accommodation on the island, and to liaise with us...

Went to this hotel as an extension of a National Geographic trip to Patagonia. The property is gorgeous and has a minimum impact on the environment. It's a 20 min trip to town but there is no reason to go there. The guides arrange for daily hikes and are very well educated on the history of the island. The hotel...

Truly, I did not know what to expect when I booked a trip to Easter Island. One thing I know is I did not expect to find such wonderful accommodations! The lodge is so thoughtfully, intelligently laid out. The rooms are very, very comfortable, well lit, with good bathrooms and great views. The food and wine are of exceptional quality....

Explora at its best is superb. The rooms are well designed and well appointed. The concept of good food, good wines, and guided walking tours of this iconic island is insipired. Unfortunately the execution sometimes does not live up to the dream. We were there for five nights over new year. About 50% of our guided tours were excellent. Intelligent,...

Girls trip to Easter Island with the goal of combining sight seeing and exercise. If you are in great shape you need to organize a private guide otherwise you could be in a widely diverse group in terms of athletic ability.
