Stayed here with my wife for a getaway evening. The house is very tastefully decorated and has a really warm and cosy feel about it. The food is fantastic, well deserving of the two rosettes and amazing value for money (£35 per head for 3 courses, a bargain in my book). The wine list is almost exclusively French (at least...

A weekend in a beautiful home in Wales. We arrived to a lovely welcome and a weekend of wonderful food. I am so glad we stayed for two nights. Dinner each night was a feast of local ingredients beautifully cooked and presented. The wine list is comprehensive, Mel was very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was equally good. Another reviewer has...

We arrived at 3.50pm to find the front door locked. Not realising we were ten minutes premature the welcome was extraordinary. 'You're too early, we don't open until 4. I'll have to get my wife'. Door closed. The wife wasn't there, we offered to come back later, but were grudgingly allowed to enter. What a great start to our relaxing...

How sarcastic and rude! This "review" perfectly demonstrates how this couple were towards us, our business and home. The contempt Colin and I felt from this couple from the first encounter until they checked out was palpable. They have been extremely liberal with the truth about timings here. They arrived at 3pm. (by the way our front door is locked...

Well last Saturday (16th) we stayed at the Drawing Room again. We have been visiting now for five years I think, either staying overnight, or over the last 2 years since they re-opened just having dinner as we have moved close enough to warrant one of us not drinking for the evening to sample Colin's excellent food. The food and...

We stayed one night - do so wish it had been more. We could not have had a better start to our holiday. Warmly welcomed by Melanie in the lovely sitting room. Our dinner was sublime and the breakfast next morning truly excellent. Really beautifully thought-out menus, first class, fresh ingredients cooked with skill and subtlety and presented with calm...

Four of us took a weekend trip to Wales and stayed at The Drawing Room. The house itself is lovely and the rooms are beautifully decorated - we had Otis and Eva. Do not be put off by the complaints some reviewers have made about Otis. The bed is full length, although the large pillows may give the impression of...

Traveller, be aware that this restaurant with rooms closes at 11 and reopens at 4 - even for multiple night guests. I totally respect Colin and Melanie or this decision and remaining true to their vision, however. We had super food (the Welsh beef was spectacular) and the room (Phoebe) was bijou but flawlessly presented (bed was a bit hard...

Dear Guest, Thank-you for your comments and thank-you for pointing out for everyone that we are not a hotel !! (can't think why anyone would assume we are a hotel when we are called "Restaurant with Rooms" anyway) but thanks for your feedback. I have made some changes as a result of your review. We do still need some time...

My husband and I have just returned from an overnight stay in this outstanding property and would highly recommend it. My first impression of the The Drawing Room was that of delight - that you occasionally get when you realise that you have happened upon something special. There is ample parking, which leads to an attractive manicured garden and on...

My husband and I first visitied The Drawing Room last May for two nights after our wedding and had such a lovely stay that we went back for our first wedding anniversay. We have now stayed in two of the three rooms (Oliver and Phoebe) and while each room is very different in style they are both luxurious and elegant...

I didn't post a review last summer when we stayed as my husband booked it for my birthday treat. The room was beautiful and the food wasbeautifully prepared and presented. I am a vegetarian and it is so nice to have something individual and different to the usual standard dishes that get trotted out for us - and I hate...
