We were in Wales for a business event near Aberystwyth, and we wanted to see a bit more of Wales to the south. So we spent a night in Llanwrtyd Wells at Kilsby Country House. It's a great little place (only two rooms), and our room was very comfortable. Breakfast the following morning was excellent, and Sue and Chris were... More

A beautiful old country house in lovely gardens and a superbly quiet countryside setting, Kilsby was really restful. Sue Cooper is an excellent hostess and cooked marvellous breakfasts with lovely home-baked bread. There are many walks nearby, some steep and into the surrounding hills, and the location was a good base for exploring mid Wales. Our room was well appointed... More

If you're looking for a romantic hideaway then Kilsby definately ticks every box. Hidden away down a private lane with lovely gardens, owners Sue and Chris make you vey welcome with home made cake waiting for you in your room and great touches like the coffee being single filter packs rather than a pack of freeze dried. The views are... More

Yes a seven star welcome, service and accommodation. There are lots to recommend here. From the minute you arrive the ease and warmth is very comforting. The setting is spectacular with lots of local interest in local tame wild life, as well as, a wide diversity of flora. A harmony fills the place, which together with one of the greatest... More

Kilsby cottage is a must for all who appreciate the quietness and solitude of country life. We discovered the cottage in 2007, although we had been familiar with Cwm Irfon for many years. The valley is steeped in history and Kilsby Country House and the adjoining cottage, overlook the ancient parish church where William Williams of Pantycelyn, author of 'Guide... More

Highly recommended - a great place to stay if you want to take advantage of the fantatsic countryside around Llanwyrtd Wells. We had a group of 5 mountain bikers, we stayed in both the cottage and the main house; both were excellent and our breakfast certainly helped to keep us moving on our bikes. Sue is a great hostess; full... More

We stayed here for just one night … but really wish we’d stayed longer! Kilsby Country House is set in a beautiful location, with stunning views across the valley. It was really quiet and peaceful here which was perfect after a full days mountain biking. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable, we really... More

This hotel was an absolute hidden gem. We stayed here for work nearby and fell in love with the place, and fingers crossed this is where we will be staying the next time we work there! Hidden along a quiet country road on the side of a valley, this cosy country house provided us with such a relaxing comfortable stay.... More

A very comfortable stay. Hot baths, plenty of space and a slice of Bara Brith every day. A lovely breakfast with homemade bread. I felt very 'at home' here.
