We needed to be in easy reach of Inverness airport for the last night of our holiday in the Highlands and chose the Dower House. What a find! The house is absolutely beautiful and decorated and furnished with impeccable taste. We were struck by the incredible attention to detail from the fresh flowers everywhere (including in our bathroom) to the...

This is an astonishing hotel, though sadly not for very much longer. It is like being invited into a private club - all the other guests we met were regular visitors. Our suite was very homely, full of interesting items and very unlike any other hotel I know. Dinner was superb and cooked by the proprietor. Breakfast was terrific. The...

This wonderful hotel - with breakfast and a table d'hote evening meal - provided a quiet and restful setting after a day of touring the Inverness area of Scotland. There are many interesting villages to visit and lochs around which to tour, sometimes on very narrow roads (many with passing places) and even short ferries (e.g. Cromarty to Nigg) to...

This was our last night travelling the North Coast 500 and having stayed here some 22 years previously and remembering how delightful and charming both the Dower House and our hosts were I was interested to find out how things were all these years later. The Dower House and Robyn and Mena Aitchison continue to be everything you could wish...

My partner booked this place. Don't trust your satnav to get you to the door. Head for Muir of Ord and call for directions. Not sure of what to expect - we were totally bowled over. We stayed in the suite - wonderful furnishings with a tasteful eye for detail and THE most comfortable bed we've slept in away from...

Its location confused our Sat Nav but a call to our hostess soon put us right The house is set in tranquil gardens and the bedrooms and public rooms are a cornucopia of antiques not least of our 120 year old bath - possibly the largest in Scotland!! Cosy and welcoming it was a perfect end to our busy trip...

I was lucky enough to stay the suite at the Dower House Hotel this summer. The property itself is a short drive – not even 20 miles? – from Inverness which although a city, is akin to small High Street and not particularly interesting and certainly not worth staying in unless you are particularly fond of large hotel chains. (Driving...

Beautiful, warm and very welcoming. A stunning garden and wonderful hosts. And the breakfast was the best in Scotland! Just how you imagine a B&B to be. Would recommend it 100 percent! Enjoy nature, good food and peace.

We spent one night at the Dower House and enjoyed every minute. The owners, Mena and Robyn, made it a great stay. With only 4 bedrooms, this is a small , charming hotel with lovely gardens. We had a great breakfast in a wonderfully furnished dining room. It's quiet and the rooms are well appointed.
