Tanglewood is an intriguing and charming house in a superb location with wonderful views across Loch Broom. We felt very welcome and enjoyed excellent breakfasts.

first impressions of Tanglewood were very good, Anne was very hospitable and offered us a cup of tea and piece of homemade cake and showed us to our room. it was very clean but not the balcony room i had been hoping for and it was quite small. The views over the loch are lovely. What i found concerning was...

We stayed here for 4 nights and had the lovely Green Room with the balcony. I don't think we have had many rooms with such a great view before looking out over Loch Broom. Anne and Julian are quintessentially English (so if you are expecting a stay with a Scottish family you won't get this) - however, they are such...

A beautiful house in a superb location. The grounds weren't as extensive as I'd somehow imagined from the website, but were nice, on the lochside, with rock pools, etcetera. Inside - bedrooms, sitting room - all very pleasant. Anne and her son were friendly and interesting. My main reservation was the dinner. It was a perfectly ok dinner - in...

Exceptional guesthouse. Wonderful house full of lovely pictures, furniture and objects. Fabulous location overlooking Loch Broom with path down to rocky shore. Cleverly designed house on a curve offering wide views of Loch Broom. We felt more relaxed here than in any other guesthouse/hotel on our holiday, thanks to the hosts' hospitality. Food - everythng homemade and gorgeous. Varied and...

The breakfast was poor and embarrassing in front of foreign visitors what must they have thought .... as for the evening meal at £33 per head it was the most...

The location and views are incredible. A must in themselves. Julian very welcoming and a great cook. Perhaps a small change to the web site to prevent misunderstandings...we were expecting his mother who previously ran it, plus no boats etc. A very enjoyable stay .

Anne and Julian are lovely hosts, nothing is to much trouble and they set a very high benchmark for others to follow. Tanglewood is a fantastic comfortable house set high above a sea Loch with lovely sea views towards Ullapool and the mountains. Bedrooms are lovely as too the public areas. The food is fantastic, I believe Julian has been...

Enjoyed our two night stay very much. We had the room with the balcony and the view from the bedroom (and indeed the bathroom) were just wonderful and the room was very comfortable. Julian looked after us very well, we had dinner in one evening and enjoyed a very tasty four course dinner (the other night we went to the...

Tanglewood house is a nice B&B. The location and the views from your room (the green room) are fabulous!! Too bad for us the owner was not there and therefore it was not possible to have dinner here. We believe that relatives were running the B&B when we were there. They were not very hospitable. This B&B was in comparison...
