Grilled Haddock very nice , chicken and Choritzo pie good, steak presention very poor onion rings more batter than onion, chips over cooked and far too much salad. Lamb shank very tasty accompanying veg and potatoes not good, veg hard and potatoes over whipped. Staff very nice and friendly.

I booked this hotel mainly as it was pet-friendly, and I didn't expect a luxury room. But even so it was awful - on arrival, the person on reception couldn't gave been less welcoming if he'd tried. He said as we had booked room only (sure i had booked breakfast?) we had to fill out a form if we wanted...

Stayed here one night before getting the ferry to Stornoway. Cosy bar with decent beer and wine and a very pleasant barman. Food was good but instead of being able to eat in the bar, we had to sit in an empty restaurant with very little atmosphere. The room was in desperate need of some TLC. The only light in...

Great location, our room looked over the harbour, allowing us a great view of the low clouds hiding the mountains that could have been visible otherwise. Room was fine, a small bottle of water replaced each day, better than most we have stayed in. A couple of nights we did hear loud talking below our window, either smokers or hangers...

My solo trip to Stornoway, Isle of Lewis on Friday 9th January, 2015, was delayed by bad weather, from the ferry port of Ullapool. I had been booked into the Argyll Hotel by a third party. From the moment I arrived late Friday afternoon, till my departure on 0245 am Tuesday 13th of January, 2015, the Management and staff, went...

Try finding someone in the UK who knows what medium rare actually means.. well I did. He was chef at The Argyll Hotel. The food was superb and plenty of it. A great welcome, chap took my suitcase up which was great. Room was good if a bit dated and the view spectacular. The telly didn't work but who cares...

Just dropped in for a drink and to check out the folk night. What a great night we had. The atmosphere was great and the local folk singers and musicians were fantastic. Wish it wasn't so far away. I would become a regular.

Stayed here on the 9th of October 14 to see a band playing in Ullapool. We were in room 8. The hotel seemed quite old fashioned but I think this was in keeping with the building itself. The room was clean, bed was comfy, good view over the harbour to the mountains beyond, wifi reception was patchy in our room...

We booked two rooms, two nights, with private bath for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Second room had a private bath but it was across and along a corridor from the room. Not a safe environment for our single female, especially since no one checks whether people going upstairs are actually guests. She had drunken men trying to get into her...

A prime example of under investment. Our room was dirty and dated. The toilet seat was hanging off and no one did anything about it. The shower was filthy. There were bare wires on the ceiling light fitting, and the curtains dated back to the 60"s (cheap dark brown nylon imitation velvet) YUK. The proprietors were away on holiday spending...
