I have spent one of the most memorable holidays at Signal Rock cottages in Glencoe. The location is incredible- surrounded by mountains, a river behind the cottage and a lochen two minutes' walk away. The cottage has all you need for a pleasant break- comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven and microwave as well as the usual appliances). We had two bathrooms, both with showers. There is underfloor heating, which makes it very cosy. There are so many activities you can do in the area, you will be spoilt for choice. Very clean and full of light (great patio doors in sitting room which open to a lovely patio area facing the river). I am definitely going back.
Had such a great time here - the cottages are super cosy and even with 6 of us never felt cramped. Nestled between mountains and with a lochan and river on your door step it was the *perfect* base camp from which to explore the beautiful area. The team that run the cottages and activities are probably some of the loveliest people you'll meet too. Decent kitchen, comfortable beds, hot showers (2 of them) and a dining table big enough to play board games on. Oh and there's even a TV. Go people, go.
I'd rather sleep in a bus shelter. The property was unkempt, damp, urine stained mattresses, thread bare carpets and the back door would not lock. On relaying some of the issues to the owner, Viki Sutherland, we were told, "if you don't like it, go elsewhere, I'm fed up of your type." .......... make of that as you wish.
We loved staying at this B&B. It is very comfortable and the sitting and dining area were great in the evening. Breakfast included homemade bread and various cereals/ granolas. Karen was really helpful and friendly and we loved going for a paddle board in the evening sun which is a separate business they run. She was also very helpful in recommending walks and things to do. Thank you!
Having visited Glencoe for the last 19 years I can safely say I have pretty much stopped at most of the local accommodation including the brilliant Clachaig Inn.Recently stopped at East Cottage with some friends and Terry, second visit it seems to be harder to book due to its growing popularity. This being the reason I was loathe to give this piece of Heaven a honest review. It is Fabulous! Breathtaking scenery, wonderful local (take a torch if visiting at night) cottage is warm, clean, well equipped, hosts are brilliant,DONT'T GO !
