Luxury wee lodges in a very special setting. Why stay in a hotel bedroom, when you can stay in your very own small hotel!?! Beautiful cosy and romantic: wooden lodges set beside a river, among trees in parkland on a golf course. Each lodge has a private veranda reaching out over the water and most lodges have their own hot tub! Inside, these wee homes are packed with luxuries: en-suite facilities, small galley with microwave, etc, BOSCH coffee machine with COSTA Americano coffee, amazing Egyptian linens.

Idilic location. A really fun experience staying in the pod and of course very relaxing with unlimited use of own hot tub! A welcomed touch with names on board and chilled Prosecco in the pod. Clean pod with all the modern amenities for a comfortable stay. Very private and couldn’t see in to other pods nor hear anyone else. Prior to visit I had called to inform staff of my dietary requirements so it would have been nice to have alternative milk and some biscuits which I could have enjoyed. Had to make an effort to get some alternative milk so I could have a cup of coffee and this was for the breakfast not the day we arrived. Trust me the small things make such a difference to the overall experience!

My girlfriend and I eventually got to come here after 4 cancellations due to the big bad bug that is Covid! Originally we were meant to stay in October, and we were fortunate enough to go last Sunday at no additional cost despite us being in summer months. On arrival we were greeted by lovely, helpful reception staff. The booking was confirmed and we were told our lodge would be ready at 2pm rather than the standard 4pm for check in....result! We stayed in lodge 3, one of the new ones. The landscaping area wasn't quite complete but we weren't too precious about that. The lodge itself was stunning, extremely clean and the same goes for the decking area, hot tub etc. There was a bottle of prosecco chilling on ice for us arriving which was a lovely touch. We went down to the Ballaculish hotel for lunch and a few drinks before returning to the lodge. We spent the afternoon on the decked area in 20 odd degrees, in and out the hot tub and generally had a lovely day. As night approached, I started our disposable bbq's and got dinner prepared. Most of the night was spent relaxing and generally had a brilliant time. The lodge was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. There are a couple of reasons for not giving full stars on the review: 1) modgies... appreciate this is not Riverbeds fault but I was eaten alive - I would 100% reccommend taking some sort of repellant as even the fire we had on most of the night didn't keep them away 2) Thankfully we took our own fire wood as the charge was £25 for no more than 10 clumps of wood - I actually walked the woods and collected some broken trees in the event we ran out and still wanted the fire to burn 3) We were on a 5pm deal that cost £195 which is great value for money. However, pricing this for a weekend in summer, for only one night is £595!!! The lodges are luxury, and a beautiful place to stay but unless you can find a deal the stay is completely overpriced. 4) Standard check in is 4pm with checkout being 10am - this again contributes to the cost. I wouldn't feel I got enough time out the stay should we have not managed to luckily get an early check in. With these hours, I'd be rather unhappy should I have paid full price. All in all though, I had an amazing time and will definitely keep an eye our for deals in the future.

My fiancé and I are just back from a three night stay at the Riverbed Woodland Lodges. It was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway with beautiful surroundings. We arrived to the hot tub bubbling away and a spotless lodge, which was lovely. The staff that we did meet were friendly and welcoming with a special mention to Katie and Brian, who provided us with recommendations of things to do and places to eat. Also, we got to enjoy a whiskey tasting evening hosted by Brian, which was excellent. However, there is a few negative points we would like highlight. Firstly, the price for each night is pretty ridiculous for the size of the lodge and lack of amenities as we could get an overnight stay in a 5 star city centre hotel for less. Luckily, we had purchased an Itison voucher. If we were looking to return, we do not understand how Riverbeds can charge over £400 per night and then add on charges for items such as robes and firewood. The shower/toilet room is very small, to the point of me hitting my head off on the sink while using the toilet. Also, after using the shower, the toilet is then unusable for a while due to the floor being soaking. The cover for the toilet roll wasn’t effective as we found out after using the shower as we ended up with soggy toilet roll. Secondly, we noticed that other lodges had bigger TV’s, better blinds and actually had an indoor seating area other than the bed. Also, the staff don’t pay attention to the slip sent in the breakfast basket. On the first day we received nothing that had been ticked on the slip. Then had to ask the next day and fill in another slip, which we still didn’t receive everything we asked for. Lastly, as much as the breakfast basket is a nice idea, the items in it were inconsistent and for the price per night we believe that it should be more substantial, e.g. hot cooked breakfast.

Fantastic and surprisingly luxurious wee lodge, hot tub perfectly located on the deck, the lodges are set in woodland and back onto a stream. Very quiet and romantic setting, not far away from great seafood restaurants.

My partner & I stayed for 1 night in May. Absolutely fabulous cabin & an incredibly romantic atmosphere with the hot tub and the setting right on the river we had an incredible night that we will never forget. However a few general pointers we feel the river beds need to address. Firstly the cost is extortionate, I was lucky enough that I found a deal but charging £500 a night you have to ensure that everything is absolutely top notch for this. If you do not book directly robes, Prosecco, fire wood etc is NOT included. This really needs to be changed when customers are paying that amount of money a bottle of Prosecco and robes you already have on site need to be included and isn’t costing you much money. The table and chairs outside is also damaged and chipped and this could be changed to a much more comfier alternative. A hot breakfast option should also be included but it seems this is very self catered. When we asked for ice in the evening we didn’t get it for an hour as the man must come from home to deliver instead of having someone on site. Loved that when we arrived we didn’t have to check in we just got our details for our cabin and was very private and I understand this is the vibe you’re going for. Check in needs to be earlier than 4pm as if the other guests have had to leave by 10am the cleaner has ample time to do this job as the cabins are so small. Understand hot tubs may not be ready as they need to be cleaned etc. I know this sounds negative we absolutely loved our stay and if the weather is on your side it is stunning. The reason we wouldn’t return is purely down to the price. We did a road trip around Scotland & even the 5* hotels are not charging £500 per night. This really needs to be addressed, if not addressed the other factors need to be fixed and improved. When paying that amount you don’t want to check in at 4pm and out by 10am. There is a charge for early check in and late check out and that’s really unfair.
