Had our second stay at the old rectory, once again really enjoyed our stay, Elaine was a wonderful host and made us most welcome, a real home from home.

Stayed here by myself recently. Was placed in the Abbott's Room... very clean, cute, and comfortable. Would most certainly stay again and recommend to other travelers. I thought that it was a good value for the money, and the only reason why I didn't give an 'excellent' rating to this property is because I felt that 'excellent' really only designated...

We took our granddughter to England this summer and I wanted a special bed & breakfast to stay at. It totally exceeded our expectations. What a wonderful place to stay.

I am sorry to say that I have to agree with previous reviews that this property is in need of an update. The communal areas were ok, but our bedroom was poor. Although the bed was fairly comfortable the pillows were poor, and the room was stuffy. The window frames were in sad need of attention and made the windows...

We came to stay at the Old Rectory through one of those WHSmith's Weekend Away vouchers given to me for Christmas by my parents. We both had no idea about the village of Lacock and mainly chose the location because of it's relative proximity to Stourhead. When we arrived on Friday afternoon we were given a tour by a very...

A lovely old building in a super location, 3 mins from village centre and easy to find. Although everything was 'fine', we were a little disappointed; expecting more from a 4-star.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Old Rectory, Lacock. It's a beautiful location.Unfortunately it was a complete disaster for us.We got to confess that we have grave reservations about the standard of hospitality and the quality of service at this place. We were given an en suite on the ground floor. It's a medium size room with a...

Very sadly we have to agree with some comments listed here - on the plus side the old building has charm, hostess was briskly cheerful and we don't like being too picky. BUT towels were very worn/scratchy and breakfast was average. Disorganised administration. Grubby in places. Rooms had some charm but could do with a bit of attention. Grounds were...

Our stay at the Old Rectory was a huge disappointment. From the outside it looks lovely but inside the place is looking very tired & dirty. The bathroom especially was filthy with the shower tray brown with dirt & other people's hair. There is no way this warrents 4 stars from the Tourist Board or the AA. Breakfast was a...

We had been to lacock last year. We still have very fond memories of the place and the place where we had lived. If you are planning to go to lacock, this is the wonderful place to stay. Our friends had recommended this place, and i would strongly recommend you to stay here. It is slightly away from the town,...
