Comfortable room and facilities although a little tired. Nice breakfast. Very convenient for Laycock Village and pubs - just a short walk down hill to the village. We had a superb evening meal in the Sign of the Angel Restaurant - a beautiful 'olde worlde' building.

Lovely building and the booking process with Denise was great . She is a very nice person. The building looks great from the outside but definitely needs some TLC inside. We do appreciate that there is a difference between "antique" and just old. The cooked breakfast was very average and the sausage the poorest I have ever seen. If you...

The Old Rectory looks imposing both on the photos and as you pull up the drive, but unfotunately the reality of the stay, happily only one night, was disappointing. The whole ambience is a little depressing as it has clearly seen better days. Aged carpet in the bathroom wasn't a great start, and while the bed was ok, the pillows...

A warm welcome awaited us as we arrived at the Old Rectory. Elaine showed us to our room and was extremely helpful in finding us a garage for a minor car repair. The building has lots of character and is quirky. It is clean and was well suited to our needs - we were out most of the day. From...

We were a large family gathering that stayed here for four days. Although the decor is getting a little dated in the bedrooms they were clean and comfortable with a great level of charm. The house itself, the lounge, the breakfast room and the gardens are all lovely and welcoming and the lady of the house serves a lovely breakfast...

Unfortunately this establishment seems to be in genteel decline. Our room needed a lick of paint and was tiny but adequate for one nights stay. The welcome booklet on our room which gave details of the Old Rectory was grubby, like the room. Breakfast had to be booked for 8.30, 8.45 or 9.00AM and pre ordered. Credit card payment had...

We stayed here for the bank holiday May weekend and what a fantastic place we chose. The breakfast was excellent, the house stunning, our bedroom just perfect as was the four poster bed and we loved the addition of the horses and chickens. Elaine and Paul were perfect hosts. We will be returning

Lovely house, lots of fabulous features, beautiful garden and great location. The room was warm and comfortable, the bathroom was not ensuite however not really an issue. The breakfast was well cooked, and catered for special celiac diet (offered gluton free bread which was fab). The Old Rectory is an easy walk to the village of Lacock with its Abbey...

We were a group of 5 senior couples and Elaine Sexton made our stay most enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast suited every taste. The Rectory is on the edge of Lacock and just a very short walk downhill from the village so easy access to everything.
