We went with friends a for the weekend. The cottage is very small and considering it was opened in 2010 lacks adequate kitchen equipment. The lounging chairs were not good for lounging in! The small sofa was ok. The dining chairs were of mock leather which was perished and cracked. The table couldn't be used without rearranging the furniture as...

I will start with positive. Great location. Fantastic old building. That's it. Sadly it is in need of an update to bring it up to the standard expected. The bathroom was dreadful, carpet on the floor, filthy shower head and towels that were old and tired. Breakfast was worse. We were told a continental breakfast would be available. There was...

Arrived just before 4 pm, after a 5 hour journey, Nobody around – notice on door said “gone to stables”. Somebody from workshop said we were too early – check in between 5pm and 7pm. Given key and told where room was. Room was okay but towels were like sandpaper. Flat screen TV smaller than a laptop. Could not see...

We had stayed here before so decided to visit again. The proprietors were very welcoming as usual, nothing was too much trouble - I had ordered a bottle of wine for the room with chocolates to celebrate an anniversary and this was duly provided. We stayed in the Dean's Room, a lovely old room with views of the stunning garden...

Tried to book a cottage for five nights whilst attending a course locally. I phoned up a month in advance and had a very frustrating conversation trying to book a cottage. Tried again by email with more success. I was then offered an evening in the b&b and the remaining four nights of my stay in a cottage which I...

I am sorry the reviewer provides such a title when he didn't actually stay here and that he had difficulty with his booking. Sometimes things happen which are out of our control and we hoped our offer of alternative accommodation was acceptable. This was a rare occurrence as usually our booking system could not be easier.

We stayed a few nights during the Badminton Horse Trails, very cosy B&B! Feels like a time-machine but with comfy beds and a big private bathroom! Just a short walk from the pittoresque village of Lacock with pubs and all you need for a "getaway". We will be back!

Apart from the fact that there were complete inaccuracies in his comments, I would also not trust a review from someone who requested monetary gain for suggesting a booking for his friend. His visit was obviously not completely unsatisfactory.

Comfortable room and facilities although a little tired. Nice breakfast. Very convenient for Laycock Village and pubs - just a short walk down hill to the village. We had a superb evening meal in the Sign of the Angel Restaurant - a beautiful 'olde worlde' building.

Lovely building and the booking process with Denise was great . She is a very nice person. The building looks great from the outside but definitely needs some TLC inside. We do appreciate that there is a difference between "antique" and just old. The cooked breakfast was very average and the sausage the poorest I have ever seen. If you...

The Old Rectory looks imposing both on the photos and as you pull up the drive, but unfotunately the reality of the stay, happily only one night, was disappointing. The whole ambience is a little depressing as it has clearly seen better days. Aged carpet in the bathroom wasn't a great start, and while the bed was ok, the pillows...
