The schooner hotel was known to be the most haunted hotel in Great Britain, we stayed in room 28 which is supposed to be the most haunted room in the hotel. Me and my friend were excited to find out what would really happen when we spent overnight at the schooner hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted with friendly staff...

Stayed in a group for 4 nights. The bar area is huge but run down. when sat in there a quarter of the bulbs in the light fittings were not working the decor is very dated and same in the dinning room. The fixtures are miss matched and even the rooms which are reasonable clean have very dated decor and...

Stayed on the 6th June 2014. my husband and I were give a nights stay at the schooner as a gift from our friends and we were really excited to have a night away, as this doesn't happen very often. On arrival we were met by a polite young girl who gave us our room key and some information that...

Think of this as a pub with rooms and you should, like us, have a pleasant stay. Do not be misled by some negative recent reviews: wifi worked well; room 31 which we had has been recently refurbished, the bathroom was clean and all plumbing in good order; the double bed was comfy; our welcome and staff generally were friendly....

I stayed for one night on a Friday at this hotel as I was visiting family nearby and it was easy to stay over than travel back to Newcastle after a night out. After checking the previous reviews I was in 2 mind whether to cancel and find elsewhere....however I'm glad I didn't!!! The check in process was relatively straight...

I am an Events Manager for Celebration Elation and had a hen party booked in for a stay at the hotel with a party of 13 in total. After reading the reviews on this site, I can honestly say I was not looking forward to it at and with this in mind I went up before the event to have...

Stayed for 2 nights, we were tempted to go home after 1. The bed was the most uncomfortable plank we've ever slept on. Even a mattress protector would have helped The bathroom was covered in black mildew, no plug in basin, vanity light didn't work. Windows covered in mildew as well, and dust and dirt behind bed. The hotel is...

Stayed for my birthday at the end of March, we had read the previous reviews and went with an open mind, the staff where fine. The room was at the top of the hotel and could see the beach and sea over the roof tops so quite nice room was ok, the decoration tastefully decorated, the finish a little rough...

Traveling a lot for my job, this appeared (from the website) to be a nice looking hotel, so I booked it. Now at £90 per night, I would expect something reasonable. The general area is nice, and depending on the room you get a sea view however, this is as good as the schooner gets. The entrance to the room...

We've just stayed at The Schooner Hotel for Easter Saturday and Sunday nights, 2014. Having been enticed by the 'haunted hotel' thing, we naturally didn't experience any spooky goings-on, but I wouldn't hold that against them. Our overall impression of the place was that The Schooner plays too much on this alleged paranormal stuff and doesn't pay enough attention to...
