Made to feel very unwelcome. Booked several months ago no suggestion that it would be advisable to book dinner beforehand on both evenings whilst staying. When we arrived told to leave the car and bags on the side of road until tour of our room completed .... Very regimental. Asked if we could book for dinner both evenings very curt response...

Although we were only able to take a two day break we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in an interesting house with wonderful garden and the most adorable dog. Our room was comfortable, breakfast choice extensive and service with a smile. To quote Arnie, (somewhat), "we'll be back".

Beautiful house in a lovely location, with very helpful and friendly owners, and lots to do, see, eat & drink nearby. Highly recommended. Particularly the breakfasts, watching the woodpeckers dining at the bird table on the lawn. Will definitely go back.

We stayed with Colin and Suzy last summer and were very impressed by the standard of accommodation and breakfast. In fact when we decided to stay in the area again, my husband insisted on returning to Newburgh House for Colin's breakfast. The room we have stayed in both times is very relaxing, light and airy with a sitting area and...

We were bought a voucher and decided to use it in the York surroinding area. Positives: Gorgeous room- we asked for king bedroom (she tried charging us extra £30 which I refused- then the boiler broke the week before our stay so I said we'll still go but only if we have that room) otherwise I don't think its worth...

Arrived after a 2hr drive from Sheffield to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary which we had booked 6 months earlier to be told by Suzy that she had double booked and there was no room for us!! She sent us to her friends B&B in another village. We had booked a meal within walking distance of this guest house and...

one of the best guest houses we have had the priviledge to stay at! The hostess Suzy Bell and her husband make one feel so welcome in their home, and what a home! beautiful place, with stunning rooms, that are cosy and warm and welcoming after a day exploring the surroundings. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts! oh! what a feast...
