We stayed at Newburgh House on a short mid-week stay to recharge our batteries. We couldn't have found a nicer place. We were only an hour from home but it felt like we had escaped from everything. We had a very warm welcome from Susie and the dogs on arrival. Our room, situated at the end of the house, was...

Had a lovely couple of days staying with Susie and Colin, We were welcomed in to their lovely home , even got a lick from Maisie (Their doggy). Our room overlooked the beautifully kept gardens at the rear of the property, even saw a duck waddle across the lawn. The room was very comfortable and cosy, with a big bed,...

I was given a "uniquestay" voucher by my friends for my 50th Birthday, as time was ticking on, the voucher ran out by 1st feb 2017 I thought I would look for somewhere not too far away and combine an overnight stay with some Christmas shopping. I looked on the unique stay web site and checked this B&B out on...

I can't believe what I have just read !!! Clearly this reviewer shouldn't stay in old houses ...she should stick to modern places .. Antique furniture is very old and is entitled to appear a little tired ..all part of it's charm .. Would anyone reading this review please read the 3 previous reviews , which are from guests who...

I am on my last night's stay, this being my third night of a short break. Colin and Suzy are a delightful couple who really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. As someone else said in a review you feel like a guest or friend of the family in a lovely country house. Newburgh House is...

If you want a quintessential English rural experience, look no further. Lovely old farmhouse with large comfortable rooms, owners' dog scurries about the house, charmingly. Full english breakfast taken in pannelled drawing rooms, visitor's book full of nice comments. Simply lovely.

Myself and my partner stayed here for one night as a little get away not too far from home in Leeds. As soon as we arrived Suzie and her dog Masie made us feel very welcome, like we had stepped into the house of a close friend. We were offered recommendations and advice on local eateries and then shown to...

My wife and I had a lovely two-night stay at Newburgh House. We found Mr and Mrs Bell to be warm, welcoming and very helpful. Suzy booked us a table at the Durham Ox a few miles away. We had a really nice dinner there. She also helped us with maps of the local area - we went for a...

Stopped for one night in this quaint old house. The bedroom was large and clean, both ourselves and our dog was made to feel very welcome and the breakfast was superb. The village is in walking distance but no street lights so take a torch if you want to visit the local pub which serves wonderful food.

We stayed overnight using an Activity Superstore voucher given as a Christmas present. Booking was difficult- this was due to the voucher provider who I would not recommend. However we also had to pay extra to book a room with a king size bed. On arrival the owner helpfully changed my pillows as I'm allergic to feathers. We enjoyed our...
