We have visited Middleham many times but never stayed overnight. We chose The Priory and have to say we were not disappointed. The room was warm and very comfortable to say the least. The feature of the freestanding bath we thought was excellent.Breakfast was traditional, hearty Yorkshire fare, very enjoyable.Service was friendly and first class. We will return and certainly recommend.

Spent a very pleasant 3 nights here. Large room, comfy bed, great breakfasts and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Sadly we didn't get the chance to experience Sarah's baking but we heard great things about her prowess in that department! Would definitely stay again, must try the scones.

So 3 nights at the priory, warm greeting on arrival, lovely room, good location albeit parking can be a bit of a lottery, and the wake up call every morning from around 6.30am of dozens of horses being ridden through the village, is well different to say the least. Breakfast is very good, freshly cooked to order and the hosts...

We have been here just three times, sitting outside, looking at the castle, and eating the most amazing scones and cakes we have yet to encounter. You must go - but only if you are prepared to become a scone bore, by which we mean raving about the priory's scones at every opportunity, especially in situations that involve lesser scones,...
