The Pier is situated in the heart of Harwich old town over looking the harbour and the confluence of the Stour and Orwell estuaries. The hotel has 14 bedrooms, several looking out over the coast (a stay in the Mayflower suite is a must). Dine in the restaurant on the first floor with great views, enjoy fresh local seafood landed in the harbour opposite; in the summer (or if its warm enough) there are tables on the balcony which enables you to really savour your surroundings. Worth mentioning are the fabulous sunsets along the river Stour. The restaurant is open from 12 noon with the full menu available until the evening, there's also no need to book but call if you'd prefer to reserve a table. On the ground floor, you'll find the NAVYÄRD bar and terrace, famous for its gin library of 140 gins. The bar is open all day and serves breakfast and light lunch and in the evening is a popular meeting place.
