Arty BnB provided us with everything we could wish for during a 3 day stay in late September. The Blue Room was clean and spacious, offering a large modern shower room alongside the quirkily named "sitouterie" where two can sit comfortably to take tea/coffee on a small settee. With tasty homemade food for breakfasts on the sun-bathed veranda, we were...

We had visited Lyme before, but not stayed. The Arty B&B was everything we want in a B&B - welcoming hosts, uniquely decorated room with sparklingly clean en-suite, relaxed breakfast (with an amazing view). Lyme is a great place to spend a few days and we found a different place to eat during our five-day stay, and all were very...

Stayed at this B&B with my partner for 2 days and loved it from the moment we walked in. It's hidden away behind a wall, but once inside you walk into a delightful garden and house in which every space and wall is a feast for the eyes. The house was filled with interesting books, art, china, furniture and objects...

So much more than overnight accommodation, this was a real treat for the senses. Such an interesting home, and friendly welcome, comfy beds and lovely shower... But more than that, our overnight stay was an inspiring experience. Hugh is a veritable dynamo of creativity as well as a charming host. Every wall is adorned with his richly coloured hand printed...

... We spent two nights at Arty B+B, such a relaxing oasis of calm and so near to Lyme Regis town and beach front. The room (red) felt luxurious and bohemian with a four poster bed and artwork and furnishings by Hugh, the owner. The breakfast on the veranda with views past the garden to the sea was special with...

This really is the place for me! Had a three-days stay with my three (grown-up) kids, thoroughly relaxing and enjoying ourselves. The beautiful house is a treasure hunt! Everywhere you look, there is something funny, beautiful our interesting to experience. ... you will love the Arty B+B by the Sea. A hidden gem, right in the centre of town. Beautiful rooms (my friend and I stayed in the red one), fabulous shower room with sufficient space to leave your stuff, beautiful veranda and garden, delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, home-made bread and jams, and, yes, Marmite! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Come and stay the weekend, or longer, in our beautiful Georgian home in the pretty seaside town of Lyme Regis, the Pearl of West Dorset's Jurassic Coast. Here in Lyme Regis you will never be bored. You can laze on a beach, collect fossils or jetsam from the Victorian dump that is crumbling onto the shoreline. You can trawl the shops or eat yourself silly. It takes a morning to explore the face of this charming Georgian gem, but this is a small town with a large town's appetite for adventure.Turn to the page Things to Do, or ask Hugh when you arrive - what's new? Decorated in handprinted wallpapers, paintings of the coast and of the artist's family, this studio home* is set in the very heart of the town. Little Place is 5 minutes uphill from Broad Street, the main drag, and Langmoor Gardens with its celebrated view and access to the ancient Cobb, the harbour and the beach. We have two rooms with en suite shower, not sea views. You can have breakfast on the verandah with a stunning sea view overlooking Golden Cap, and sit in our garden. Most of the breakfast is home made produce; and we strive to live in an environmentally-friendly way. Parking in nearby pay and display carparks. "One of the prettiest places in the UK" as recently described by John Sargeant, Lyme Regis and especially Little Place continue to be an inspiration to its present artist owners. Here's your opportunity to share that inspiration by staying in a quite unique house in this jewel of a seaside town. This arty house has pedigree. For many years it was the home of Sir Laurence Whistler, The Queen's Glass Engraver. He left his mark on several beautiful windows about the house. This is a creative, working house and we welcome those who respect a quiet atmosphere. Your host Hugh is a working artist with a busy practice in portraits, landscapes, & lino prints together with textiles & wallpaper making. ... more   less
