Found out my brother was staying here for the Guitars on the Beach" so decided to stay as well. Very happy with our room as we had a big bay window overlooking the gardens and the sea beyond that. Loads of space in the well furnished room with all the usual facilities. Stayed on the room breakfast and dinner rate...

Seems madness as we only live about half an hour away but we really look forward to the odd trip to the Alexandra. Unfortunately it is always just for the one night as we are governed by the needs of animals.......cows, sheep, poultry etc. It is certainly not the cheapest hotel in Lyme Regis, but it is the best. Beautiful...

Had a wonderful cream tea sat in the garden overlooking Lyme Regis. Scones were mouth watering, with plenty of jam and cream. Staff were excellent and very helpful. The Alexandra is the perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon. Looking forward to a return visit.

We returned here, having had a pleasant previous stay. The food is excellent and the staff very helpful. The car parking is tight (and the staff have to move cars around). No air conditioning, but our room overlooked a quiet garden and there was no trouble having the window open. Room was on the small side, but beautifully appointed and...

I am usually well organized, but somehow I booked my annual summer spree, with one foot in Autumn. However, it made no difference to my stay. I was well looked after as a returning visitor, the hotel staff, left a small note in the bedroom, about which I was truly chuffed. Lots of new staff too. So a little patience...

We were only staying in Lyme Regis for two nights at another hotel, but decided to try the Alexandra as on the face of it, it looked excellent. We were immediately seated and given menus and wine list. After taking our order and finding out we were non-residents we were treated as second class citizens. One of our starters was...

Lunch was rather disorganised chaos. Understaffed and lacking firm leadership, queues at the bar were 20 minutes to place food orders for eating outside or even to get a drink. It's a shame as clearly a lot of money has been invested in the hotel but management is sorely lacking. Food when it came was average although desserts were excellent....

This is my third visit in three years. Consistently good service and excellent quality food. The "infinity lawn" offers a great view own to the Cobb and to the left of the lawn is a path out to the formal public gardens that extend down to the harbour. This is worth the walk.

We stopped overnight on our way from Kent to Cornwall. We had not been to Lyme Regis before. We loved the town and the hotel . Lyme Regis is an unspoiled seaside town with a beautiful harbour. The Alexandra Hotel and is grounds overlook the harbour. The hotel is homely and very comfortable.
