We stopped here for lunch on Easter Saturday. Tucked behind the main buildings on the front it had a nice look about it and we liked the menu choices. We ordered the fish platter, which was £39 for 2, we enjoyed it but thought it had room for improvement. The side salad was small and it was a bit of...

The food is expensive for what it is. They are resting on their laurels somewhat, knowing they have a captive audience in the overcrowded Padstow. Why everyone flocks there remains a mystery. It's not all that special and it's absolutely rammed. The hotel staff are pleasant enough but the room was dull. The bar/restaurant is nicely decorated with marine related...

Ordered the sea food platter for £39 !!. When it came it was very large. Whole plaice, monk Fish kebab, prawns, anchovies, scallops, fish goujons salad and garlic bread. The scallops were great and the plaice looked good but did lack flavour !. The fish goujons were oily and full of bones which was a right put off. The monk...

Stayed in room 14, a lovely wood panelled room with four poster bed. Great ensuite however the shower was extremely difficult to regulate the temperature, constantly going from boiling hot to freezing cold, also took a while to set the temperature of the radiator in our room but got it sorted in the end. The hotel is dog friendly and...

We popped in here for a quick drink on a recent trip to Padstow and decided to stay for dinner when we realised that the restaurant we were going to eat at was closed. The barman was friendly and the atmosphere was good; this is a really nice, quaint little pub. my boyfriend ordered mongolian chicken curry and said that...

Four of us went to eat at the Old Ship attracted by the outside appearance of the pub and it's menu. Perhaps we should have taken the hint when despite it being 7.30 p.m no-one else was eating. Lamb was off so we ordered the pricey seafood tagliatelle (£17 for a pasta dish! ) and a burger plus extra chips....
