Beautiful, remote and peaceful setting. Lovely Georgian Manor House set in 100s of acres of arable landscape. The property has been in the family since it was built in rhr early 19th century and it has the most welcoming atmosphere. High ceilings and well-proportioned rooms. The current hosts - Peter and Jodie could not be more welcoming and obliging and are genuinely good company. Would return in a heartbeat if in the area again.

Everything about Sloley Hall is sumptuous and decadent and Stable cottage is no exception. The beautiful grounds are a joy to behold, look out of the bedroom window and you will see chickens going about their business in a beautifully manicured 18th century walled garden. We spent out first while in the house watching a woodpecker hop across the manicured lawn while the chickens idly pecked, perhaps not realising that they are as spoiled as us. On entering the cottage, you are greeted with a private garden and outdoor dining area with barbecue for those balmy summer evenings. Step across the threshold and you immediately feel you're home. The kind welcome from our hosts was much appreciated after our long journey and every modern convenience is available without being intrusive, including the hidden dishwasher, washing machine and full size fridge freezer. You might choose to wash up yourself just to spend extra time looking out of the kitchen window at the roses right outside and the meandering chickens beyond. Stable cottage has been finished to an extremely high standard, in keeping with the period of the house and gardens but with a modern opulence throughout. The fixtures and fittings are straight out of ideal home and no expense has been spared in the stylish decor and home comforts which are perfectly balanced with space and clean lines. All the rooms in the cottage are huge, especially the main bedroom with it's super king size bed and views across the fields and woodlands. Upon waking, what stands out is the quiet and the sunshine peaking through the curtains, willing you to throw them open to see the picturesque view beyond. The wood pigeon can be heard amongst the chorus of birds reminding us to relax and take things slow. There are permissive footpaths around the estate to enjoy a good walk and lots of pubs, walks and beaches not too far away. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the cottage has decent WiFi and a huge, high quality television and sound system and a very comfy sofa. We were able to log in to netflix via the TV and snuggle down in the evenings. The bathroom, which is upstairs is also beautifully finished to a very high standard and has a bath and shower combined. What I must mention is the cleanliness of the whole property. Not a spec of dust, a stain or watermark could be found. Our hosts clearly pride themselves on ensuring your stay is not only stylish and comfortable, but absolutely perfect in every detail. The cottage at Sloley Estate, with its beautiful house and gardens is a real treat, the 'plug and play' of getaways because everything you need is here, ready and waiting for you to enjoy. It really feels like a home from home nestled in the beautiful countryside. The perfect place to recharge your batteries.

Simon and Babs are really super hosts. The accommodation was excellent, breakfast superb, and we were made to feel very comfortable indeed, in this magnificent property. Our 3 year old toddler was also very well catered for, and made to feel very welcome. Simon also liked my TVR Griffith, so clearly, they have impeccable taste :0) As other reviews have said, if you are visiting Norfolk, take note, this is a really wonderful place to stay. We will definitely return here. Thank you both!

When we arrived we received a very warm welcome and were most impressed by the character of the house and its rural setting with a delightful view from the bedroom window. The room and bed were spacious and very comfortable. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which was ample and well cooked. We also thoroughly enjoyed our interesting conversations with the owners who were very helpful and obliging. Why would anyone want to stay in a characterless hotel when you could stay here instead?
