Stayed for 2 nights at The Village Inn. Room was spacious and clean. En-suite shower was adequate shower temperature not great. But for £24 per night was great value. Can’t comment on other aspects of the hotel as it was all shut due to covid regulations.

Booked for one night to do some family history in the area. Very warm welcome from the owner. Booked a twin room which was newly refurbished and immaculate. The outside area was also immaculate. Just the ticket. The owner recommended we go to Seaham beach and have our supper there as the Inn does not do meals. Had a lovely evening in Seaham and returned to a good night’s sleep. Would recommend for a base to explore the area.

We booked 2 rooms here to stay just after they opened again post-lockdown. We had a double room and a family room, both were large with plenty of space and we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable during our 2 night stay. Everything was clean and considering the rooms are above the main pub, it was very quiet so we slept perfectly! Would definitely return again when we are in the area if required (couldn't stay with family like we usually do due to elderly family members isolating).

We chose The Village Inn for the reception for our little boys Christening. We couldn’t recommend this place for a function enough! Staff were so friendly and helpful, they set the room up lovely with table cloths and flowers. We were allowed to add any decorations that we liked and they set up the conservatory room for hot and cold food. Toilets were lovely and clean and we had our own private section of the bar. Can’t thankyou enough for providing a lovely venue to celebrate our little boys special day. Will definitely use again!

good place for a quiet game of pool. the only thing is there are 2 places to go.owed by the same guy and stopped doing food at the other place so has restricted the opportunity to eat out in Murton.bad move as all types of folk now go to the other place.ridiculous
