Having driven down from Scotland in a rainstorm of biblical proportions followed by car problems we were extremely relieved to arrive at Redmayne House. Liz & Rob are great hosts & we were immediately offered coffee & cakes which were greatly appreciated. Our room was very comfortable & we had their first class breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended & we hope to get back there sometime soon!

We stayed at Redmayne House on the first night of our C2C Walk. It was booked by PackHorse and we were delighted with it - from the tea in the afternoon, room and breakfast. The house is a large stone house, and has been beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished. As we had to set off to St Bees early in the morning, our lovely hosts, Rob and Liz ran it early for us. Our twin bedroom was a great size - they often are not. I would happily stay there again.

What a fantastic house! We were welcomed by Liz, with tea and home-made cake. Our huge room was tastefully decorated and furnished. The bathroom was beautiful with a bath and shower, and everything was clean and sparkling. Breakfasts were superb; I really appreciated having marmalade and butter that were served in dishes rather than the individually plastic wrapped ones that so often appear. Liz and Rob were so friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of advice about walks and the local area. I cannot recommend this wonderful B&B highly enough.

We stopped here for a night after a long days walk on the Coast to Coast path . The historic house has been superbly renovated in a sympathetic and stylish way by the owners . We were given a very warm ( and Covid safe !) welcome with tea and cake on offer . The breakfast menu was very varied with lots of locally sourced and home made produce . The traditional Taggy Man pub and a great Indian restaurant, The Mango Tree , were just round the corner so we had all we needed for a great stay .

Stayed here three years ago walking the Coast to Coast. It was so good we promised to go back. The house is wounderful with a great garden. Our room was fantastic with a magnificent large bathroom. Stayed again for two nights and it was still as good as before. Liz and Rob are wounderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Best B&B breakfast. We will be going back. Thanks for making our visit to Kirkby Stephen so good. Sally and Martin
