We stayed here as part of our W2W cycle tour with 3 families. The welcome was very warm and it's a great venue with bike storage too. Just across the road is a shop (open early until 2200hrs) and there are 2 pubs and restaurants and takeaways close by. The rooms are YHA standard and breakfast can be arranged -...

This might well be one of the cheapest places to stay in Kirkby, but it is in dire need of some TLC. I believe it used to be a YHA but is now independent. It has certainly seen better days. Very basic accomodation, tiny bathroom facilities. A very simple, yet overpriced breakfast. Great if you are travelling on an extreme...

Stayed here with a group of mates for a few days hillwalking. We do this often so have experienced lots of hostels and bunkhouses, good and bad. This is one of the best we have ever stayed in. The rooms are basic as you expect in a hostel but clean and comfortable. The converted church is a beautiful building which...

Very good 3 night stay here as a base for walking with some friends Good value, great breakfasts, comfortable beds, clean, and a very welcoming owner, Denise. There is plenty of parking and its ideally situated for access to walking and the town. Will be coming back for sure.

The stay was good for a group of 10 people. We were visiting Lake District and needed to stay overnight on a Saturday. One of our requirements was a kitchen to cook our own food and found out this hostel.Thankfully there were no other groups in the hostel and we could enjoy as well.Everyone is still feeling the deal was worth.

The hostel had with everything we needed with a well equipped kitchen and a large living/social area which was large enough for our whole group. The owner Denise is also very helpful, making sure we were knew everything we needed to before...

I stayed here for one night during my Coast to Coast walk. I've been 'living' in hostels full time for 6 years, I'm used to looking after myself and was happy to here as the Hostel had everything I needed. Denise the hostel manger was a great help and really friendly.

Simple but well located travelers accommodation. Located between the Dales, the Lakes and the Pennines I have passed this way a few times. Finding a place for the night that has a good location ie. a shop that opens until late and a couple of pubs together with somewhere to get a shower and a bunk for the night is...

The hostel is very nicely placed. Unfortunately it is very tired and somewhat grubby. There were remnants of the old YHA ownership still evident. But the whole place was just run down and in need of a clear out of old furnishings and torn mattresses and grubby worn bedding. It was also quite cold . I have stayed in hostels...

So sorry this customer did not have a good stay at my hostel. The poor place is old and some rooms are indeed tired. I do hope to be able to spend some money on the place this year. The Balcony has been decorated and I am pleased with the result. Two rooms have had new carpets.Yippee, two new windows...

After a nightmare of a day travelling from Cardiff to Scotland to pick up a new bike, which turned out to break down outside the kirkby stephen, this converted church was definitely my sanctuary for the night. Iwas a real pain to Denise, I mean a real pain... Kept on ringing her in the day and night as I didn't...
