Friendly and service-minded staff. The best location and charming interior. High quality vegan options for dining and breakfast. Pet-friendly, with a nice welcoming gift as a bed and a meal. We came back for some stargazing but the rain gave us a star-quality stay at our room with tasty food, a nice warm bath and comfortable beds. Thank you. For this time. We will be back for those stars. They say that third time is a charm.

Dear macpac74, First of all I would like to thank you because of your opinion about our Parador. We have a fantastic location in the heart of the national park, but the best thing of this location is that you could see all the stars at night. We are so happy because you have enjoy your stay and we also hope to see you soon in our Parador. All our staff wish you a nice day. Best regards, Alejandro García

We stumbled upon this hotel whilst visiting Mount Teide. We were waiting for the sun to set as we were advised this was how to get the most out of our visit up the mountain & surrounding area in order to make the best of both worlds (see the sunset / watch the stars) We were actually looking to eat at the time and initial impressions of the hotel were fairly good. We walked into the restaurant area, which did have great picture windows overlooking the dramatic landscape and thought this would be a lovely spot to eat, albeit it was only around 5pm. We were facing that difficult decision eat dinner early or have a snack to keep you going (difficult choices eh? :-) As it happened the decision was made up for us as we came face to face with a surly looking gentleman asking the question about dining at his hostelry. His response was a less than welcoming "Restaurant doesn't open until 7pm" so a little disheartened walked back towards the bar area to have a drink. I ordered a cappuccino , Mrs L a glass of wine as we noticed an adjacent table ordering some food? Our drinks arrived and sad to say the mood of the gentleman serving us had not improved, he had what I can best describe as a 'face as long as a fiddle' The cappuccino he brought me was without doubt the worst cappuccino I have ever had. Despite there being a barista machine behind the bar what i received was a filter coffee / americano with a huge pile of UHT squirty cream atop it! It was undrinkable, absolutely awful and TBH I was too scared to ask him to change it. It was at this point I noticed the couple food arrive on the next table, which was only small and just enough for their main courses, however the same gentleman serving us brought out their dessert at the same time attempting to place it on the table. The couple (with more backbone than me) must have asked him to take it away until later, you should have seen the look on this mans face having to take it back to the kitchen. It never cease to amaze me why people like this are in the service industry? Lets give him the benefit of the doubt, he may have had some bad news / just having a bad day but we left feeling we had in fact dodged a bullet by avoiding a catastrophe at dinner. I often wonder when hotels have little or no competition (middle of nowhere) they feel this type of service is acceptable. I wouldn't return

Dear davidmlowe, First of all I would like to thank you because of your opinion about our Parador. We are in the center of the National park and because of that we have a marvellous location. There are so many routes for hiking for discovering all the park, and also you could enjoy the night watching the stars. I want to apologise because of this situation, in our company one of the most important skills is be a gentle and give quality to the service. I have speak with the maitre to solve this situation, thanks again for your help to improve our service. Please if you decided to return to Las Cañadas, let me know it in advance. We hope to see you again, all our staffe wish you a nice day. Kind regards, Alejandro García

Made first booking for parador through amigo programme. However, neither free breakfast nor a 15% discount was provided on food and beverages as claimed by amigo programme. This was rather disappointing.

not a luxurious hotel, but nicely located in the middle of nowhere next to the Teide. The hotel also has a very very cosy fireplace with adjacent bar, nice restaurant with Teide views, friendly check in and bedroom was fine!
