Riu Palace Tenerife is the best kept secret (not anymore!) on this side of the world. No need for long haul to Caribbean etc when you can sit among the palm trees here with the sea in front. Fabulous staff and extremely eager to help. Nothing too much trouble. Special thanks to Victor, Fatima & Reception and breakfast & bar staff. Food is excellent, cava at breakfast, fresh orange juice - evening meal is super and the choice is incredible. Variety to suit all ages and preferences. The rooms are cleaned daily and the whole place is spotless. Beautiful grounds and best location on the whole coastline. A big thank you to all the Riu Palace team in Tenerife!! We will be back !!

This hotel a glorified and overpriced 3* with poor service, average food. The location is the only good thing about this hotel, it’s right next to the sea in a quiet location. The rooms are ok but very basic, cheap fake wood furniture and average cleanness. We booked a twinroom with two beds and the beds are basically right next to each other. The hotels solution for this was to move the beds apart and have the fixed bedside lights right above your head. Awwww how about now thank you.. They don’t have any room with two separate beds and they told me I just have to put up with my friend right next to me kicking me all the time during the night. The air conditioning doesn’t seem to work well in my room. The patio chairs are horrible plastics recline ones which you can usually pick up in your local Tesco for a tenner. The food is ok, dinner is 6/10 and breakfast is 5/10, also they don’t offer gluten free bread or products on the breakfast buffet and you have to ask for it. They charge you if you want to use your safe in the room.. yet again you wouldn’t expect this for this price point. I bought some decent size wine glasses so we could enjoy a glass of wine in the room from a decent glass ( and not from that basic and cheap one they provide) and after coming back from the pool the house keeper has taken them.. The whole 24 hours since we checked in this hotel just keeps disappointing and the thought of spending an other 6 days here is just depressing.. I have never in my life spent so much time to call reception ( that’s including all my travels all together ) to complain and ask for things.. As I said this is not a 5* for sure ,VERY FAR FROM IT. If you are looking for a luxury stay don’t come to this hotel as it will disappoint you!!

The hotel was recommended by many of our family and friends and we weren't disappointed. We booked our 1 week holiday during Covid times and our air line changed our flights at the last minute meaning that we arrived at 2am in the morning! Pilar the Reception Manager was superb.... she prepared a beautiful room for us and even left a cold dinner in case we were hungry on our arrival. We went straight to bed and the next morning we discovered our fabulous hotel! Firstly we had a wonderful room looking out at the pool, it was cleaned efficiently every day and the cleaners were always so friendly. The swimming pools were spotlessly clean and there were many different areas you could relax, either next to one of the pools, or in front of the sea, or a sandy part which was like our own private beach. The location of the hotel was excellent, right on the sea front and minutes from all shops and bars. The food in the main dining room was outstanding. The variety of food and the quality of the produce was first class. You could never be bored with the selection as there was so much on offer and the selection changed every night. The waiting staff and drinks servers were really friendly and very efficient. I also used the gym twice during the week and again the equipment was great. They removed the free weights due to Covid. A lovely added touch was that one afternoon there was a saxophonist playing beside the pool and another evening there was somebody playing the grand piano in the main hallway to the hotel. The surroundings were just beautiful and waht you would expect for a five star hotel. I want to thank the Manager Alexis Acevedo and all his team for making our holiday so special! I strongly recommend this hotel.
