My wife and I stayed at the Hurricane for 4 nights and loved the hotel. It is full of character and charm, with fantastic gardens, 2 swimming pools and great views onto the beach and across Morroco. The rooms are clean, comfortable and of a good size. To say that this hotel is only rated a 2 star is misleading, as it much better than that! We booked an ocean view room, and although it is impossible to see the ocean because of the garden shrubs and trees, it was great to hear the ocean from the lovely terrace in front of our room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A fantastic stay at the hotel, beautifull and clean rooms. The breakfast with the seaviews and friendly & helpfull staff. I can highly recommend a dinner in the tropical garden with the “château briant” and a lovely wine, also if you are not staying in the hotel. Hopefully we will be back soon!
This review is for food and not the hotel. We have been eating at the Beach Bar at the Hurricane Hotel for years and always thoroughly enjoyed it. We were in Spain in January/February, just before everything was in lockdown for Covid 19 and had friends staying with us, who hadn't been to this part of Spain before, so naturally, as the weather was fantastic, we took them for lunch. We arrived early for lunch and so sat on the lovely terrace and had coffee, waiting for the delights to be served down by the beach. I can never believe how reasonable this buffet is and how good. Great choices and excellent, very helpful staff - a complete delight - echoed by our friends. Our friends had a problem when they paid, as it looked as if they had been charged twice. The staff were exemplary in making sure everything was correct and, in fact, rang us the next day to make sure it was sorted out. Belatedly, thank you guys. Can't wait to return when this nightmare is over!!…
I received a very warm welcome at check-in. They have beautiful grounds to walk around. A beach bar very near the beach. It has a lovely view out to sea, served great salads, cakes, and hot and cold drinks. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. I have been to this hotel many times and do plan to be back soon. I love having a little bottle of their Champagne and looking at their fantastic views.
InvenWe have been coming here for almost 30 years. We love this hotel. It has become a second home. Why bother to buy a property in Spain when you can stay here. The staff are lovely, the food is great, and you are right on one of the best beaches in Spain. Convenient as it is only 40 minutes from Gibraltar airport.
