Travellers' Choice
Hotel Tarifa Lances is characterized by a modern design. Actually, it has a captivating personality, as we find typical Andalusian elements in its interior such as handmade pieces of art. The hotel features 100 rooms, as well as a restaurant-buffet and a restaurant à la carte, several pools and wide garden areas. The exclusive area only for adults is equipped with Balinese beds and sunbeds, so that you can enjoy even more your sunny days, if possible. Furthermore, in the superior terrace you will find the Pura Vida Terrace, where you can enjoy a delicious cocktail or a tasty coffee while admiring the breathtaking views over Tarifa, Morocco, the Strait of Gibraltar and Lances Beach. Also, this space offers the possibility of celebrating any kind of event, like dinners, weddings and shows.

Booked two rooms for two nights 29 and 30 June. Due to Coronavirus two of the guest could not come from the UK. Phone and asked can I change to four nights around this time. Yep no problem. Arrived 27th of June to check in. This is an issue the room is booked for one person not two. So somehow the booking got mixed up, they where not going to play. I said what difference is it that two people stay in the stay room than one. Asked to speak to the manager. Came back and said we will refund your money 450 euros. Ok so refunded after I said you didn’t put up much of a fight to stay this booked ( was non refundable when booked) The answer was it’s not my hotel What can I say with low booking just to refund asked after what the cost for a second person 20 euros So refunded 450 euros because of 20 euros and looked on line and can book a room cheaper now for the same nights as I paid. I found a wonderful hotel who couldn’t be happier that I stayed with them right On the beach (picture enclosed )

However posh hotels is probably not what the average visitor to tarifa search for. But for those who do this is a good stay. We didn't try the breakfast because we always eat at the nearby Azul but we heard from others that the breakfast is very good. The rooms are, like the rest of the building, relatively new and fresh and is providing you with everything you could expect from a four star hotel. The reception is very helpful and nice. It was low season when we visited but even though it felt like everyone was on their toes. I really recommend this hotel if you don't mind a short walk in to the old town where you probably gonna spend your evenings anyway.

We stayed in this Hotel recently, we checked in on Tue.10/12/19. We were greeted by a most pleasant young lady. We asked to view the room, she escorted us there. We were well pleased with the room, it was clean, modern and we enjoyed our sleep there. We enjoyed our breakfast the next morning. We were very impressed with the pleasant staff we encountered.

After reviewing my 1st allocated room I returned to reception and enquired about a room change as didn't fancy a balcony view over looking a building site for my short stay as it was not the hotel experience I was looking for. As all sea view rooms were occupied I opted for a pool view at my own expense and I could still just see the sea too so bonus. The rooms I have to say are beautiful, mine was large, spacious, modern and tastefully decorated to a good standard and as previously mentioned in other reviews they do have see through showers which as a solo traveller was not an issue. Within the room was a safe and mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks. The balcony was also twice the size as the previous room. Cannot fault the breakfast, accessible until 11am there was an extensive choice of hot and cold foods. The roof terrace is disappointingly only open on weekends. The pool bar though does delicious cocktails sadly there is no Happy Hour at that bar. The hotel is perfectly situated with easy access to the beach just a 5min walk and 20mins into Tarifa Town which is well worth visiting. The Lances is beautiful hotel in a ideal and practical location for exploring Tarfia.

We spend 5 nights a the hotel and really liked it very much. We had a nice spaceous room with pool view. The glass "wall" between room and shower was not a problem, because there was a curtain to draw. The breakfast offered something for everybodies taste. The receptionists were helpful, they arranged us the day trip to Morocco which was great. The days we were there was very windy, but that is part of Tarifa and we did not mind. For going into town you could either take the walkway close to the beach or walk along the road, both was fine. We enjoyed every bit of our time in Tarifa
