We have fallen into the lovely habit of visiting this wonderful hotel each year. What makes it so special is a whole list of things :-) Wonderful location right in the heart of the old town by the church Family run hotel with fantastic staff Superb spacious rooftop sun terrace with loads of beds and umbrellas and a small, but large enough, pool Pool towels are provided Views to the sea and the mountains Large modern rooms with huge comfortable beds, everything is immaculately clean Electronic blackout blinds Some rooms have small balconies We have considered an apartment or villa but why bother when this gem of a place gives us everything we need, bed, breakfast, in the heart of the action, clean, modern, safe and really well run
The room was perfect. Clearly it had been recently refurbished so was in sparkling condition. There was a king size bed which was extremely comfortable, spacious bathroom with a great shower and a small balcony to dry clothes on.The pool despite being small was very refreshing and there was plenty of room for everyone to sunbathe on the rooftop safely. Excellent value for money and wouldn´t hesitate to stay here if we found ourselves in Nerja again.
I stayed one night to visit the Nerja caves and Frigiliana, and Hotel Puerta del Mar is an excellent choice. It’s very close to Balcon de Europa, restaurants, the museum and an easy walk from the bus station. I had a simple but very clean double room that had a small balcony. It was a chilly night but I didn’t use the heating because it was noisy. The rate included a very good continental breakfast- cold cuts, jams, fruit, bread, coffee and other drinks served in a bright, airy area. The people at the desk weren’t overly friendly but helpful enough when asked questions. Perhaps this is off season and that’s the reason it was a very good price. I don’t know how noisy or expensive the hotel would be during summer months.
Great location. Friendly staff and a good breakfast continental . Wifi was good , safety deposit box provided in room and the beds were extremely comfortable. Great roof terrace with a plunge pool . Disliked · Only mayor issue was the balcony . Room 209 has no privacy due to the close proximity of the office opposite. You couldn't even open your blinds or curtains.
This hotel is just off the Balcon de Europa, virtually next to the town's charming church. This makes it very busy and there is no parking here at all. It's best to park briefly in the town's central underground car park while registering and then move to one of the open parking areas on the edge of town (under the N340 flyover) which is free. We stayed for two nights and had a room looking over a side street. It seemed that the hotel had two types of rooms: renovated, bright rooms and rather dull, tired ones. Ours was one of the latter. Although everything worked OK, it was a little tatty and disappointing for a hotel which wasn't particularly cheap for a 2-star hotel. The rest of the hotel was nicely decorated and there is a great roof terrace with good views over the town. The pool is more of a plunge pool but there are plenty of sun loungers and the whole area is very pleasant. Breakfast was good with a varied selection of pastries, fruit, cereals tea/ coffee etc.…
