Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel was very well located in terms of everything. Very short walk to beach, restaurants, bars, etc. The room was clean and comfortable, basic as it is a hotel/hostal but the staff were very helpful. We arrived slightly earlier than the check in time and went straight to the room. We had an ensuite and a balcony. Would definitely go back and recommend for the value and location.

Stayed here for 3 nights. We had stayed here before. Good clean comfortable rooms, to, en suite, friendly helpful staff and in an excellent location for beach, eating areas, bus station and railway station. Great value.

This is obviously a 1* hotel/hostel - however I struggle to see why it doesn't have more. We were welcomed warmly at 10AM when we asked if we could leave our bags there before a day on the beach (normal check-in is 2PM). The absolutely lovely lady on reception told us our room was ready and we could use it as we pleased from then! We stayed in room 03 and it was spotless. The room is basic, yes, but the beds are so comfortable (seriously) and the shower was warm and adequate. The hotel itself is so central with loads of excellent restaurants nearby, including some delicious looking Spanish places that we would have visited, had we more time. We only stayed for one night and were expecting the worst but honestly it couldn't have been better. The only problem we had was noise in the street during the day when we were napping, but that would have happened anywhere and at night it was virtually silent. The rooms are equipped with air con so we slept like babies. We'll definitely be returning for a longer stay next summer!

I have spent the last 2nights here as an extension to my stay as my previous hotel could not accommodate. I think this place would benefit from a kettle in the room and at least one English tv channel (states it has international but obviously the uk is not international). I could not recommend as a stay for more than one or two nights as just far too noisy. You can hear everything that is happening in the other rooms from the guy talking to his wife on the phone, the shower and the morning habits ( that is clearing the throat). Then to top it you can hear the children in the local school down the road and this is with out any window open! Whilst it has tried to modernise it really needs to sort out all the little things that let it down. I thought I was rolling out of bed only to establish it is a king mattress on a double base....what is all that about. I can say it is very clean and the daytime receptionist is very friendly.

It was great to return to The Marbella and all the staff remembered us from our previous visit. We were given a different room from the last time but there was no fault with this room either. Perfect for a weeks stay. The receptionist even phoned a local take away restaurant for us on our last night to eat in our room. You can't get much more help than that. We will certainly be staying here again. Highly recommended.....again!

Booked in here at the last minute as the annual Festival was on so hotel rooms were scarce. Great location in the town center, just minutes walking distance from everything. Small hotel but very clean and the 24 hour reception was a bonus. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. I am certainly going to use this hotel again in the near future.

Great location in the city center, and friendly staff. You get what you pay for, however the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean, along with a great shower. Recommended for a short stay....

We, 2 couples stayed here for one night whilst attending a concert in the area. Great central position, basic but clean rooms, good shower and comfortable bed. More than adequate breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Great value for money for small price paid. Would use again.
