Have stayed here a few times now and always ask for top floor and the reception is very accommodating. This time, the studio was even better-very well equipped kitchen with new and more cook wear, chopping boards etc. The beds are super comfy and the furnishings fresh and new. We LOVE the balcony and sea view. There are 3 washing lines if needed. Only recommendation would be to provide washing up liquid and a sponge (we always take our own) as this would encourage people to wash their dishes properly. I presume the cleaning staff have that job when people vacate the apartments.
Lovely, clean and comfortable hotel in a perfect location on the promenade. We chose the studio room with a double bedroom, bathroom, separate well equipped kitchen and large living/dining room. Air-conditioning/heating was easy to use. The room has been cleaned regularly, fresh towels each time. Hotel bar is a good size with a reasonable menu. Laundry attached and small shop next door.
Lovely room with sea view, didn't expect it.It was let down with having a bath with shower over it. I am 5ft 10in & the height of the bath side was at knee high to climb over. Also the bath was slippery due to no bath mat. As a senior citizen I found this a little unnerving. As this hotel is near the harbour you expect a little noise but, a dredger was their all day & night for my stay. I ended up buying ear plugs. The wifi in my room was very sketchy, ( 7th floor ) It's a shame because apart from this it is a good hotel.
Have stayed here a few times as it's in an excellent location for both Fuengirola and Los Boliches. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but they have everything you need, including a kitchenette with hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. Extras include a hairdryer, good air con and a tv with 3 or 4 English channels (good for a solo traveller who wants to chill in their room after an evening out). The wifi is also excellent. The studio apartments are all facing the beautiful beach and get sun for all of the morning. Outside the promenade is lovely and you can walk for a couple of kiles, all on the flat. There's a decent bar underneath for those late drinks, a mini shop on the corner or a bigger Supermercado just a minutes walk away behind the apartments. There are plenty of bars and restaurants near by and Fish Alley is probably a 10 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend if you want a chilled holiday with good amenities. The fact it's very often booked up, says it all really. Not fancy but definitely good value. …
Three night BA Holiday break at a very reasonable price. Beachfront central Fuengirola Apart-hotel with great views of the sea. Small and basic, it includes a double hob for cooking, a microwave, a sink and a fridge. Two single beds and a small central area to eat on. Small TV and ample wardrobe space and a balcony to sit and watch the ocean views.
We have stayed here before and the view and location is the reason we came back , the smell from the drains is worse than ever and to top it off the penthouse above us had a party last night keeping us awake into the early hours ! I went to report to reception and was told phone the police ! Why ? Ring the room and tell them to keep the noise down .. we can’t we dont rent that out . So it doesn’t matter about their guests ! We definitely won’t return after this .
2nd time visiting this hotel and we enjoyed it so much we brought family with us for their 1st time abroad. Its the perfect location right across the road from the beach, shops and restaurants close by and just a short walk to the marina. It's a short taxi ride to the shopping centre which has shops for everyone's taste.
Return visit to Fuengirola for us but first visit to Stella Maris apartments. We had a number of problems during our stay but I simply can’t mark the hotel down for it as it was dealt with so brilliantly. Check in was easy. We were put in a 14th floor studio with stunning sea view (this place is first line so it was superb). First time booking a studio actually, we usually have a 1 bed apartment but this was a great size studio, lots of storage albeit quite shallow in the cupboards so you had to be creative with your unpacking, but no real problem. Comfortable beds, nice and clean. Really impressed. The following morning, whilst washing up the sink unit (full of water) dropped through the sideboard and into the cupboard underneath flooding the apartment completely. This could well have been my fault if I’d have leaned on the sink I’m not sure. I ran down to reception and within minutes a cleaning team was mopping up the water. We were automatically moved to another apartment 2 floors down, without having to request. A keycard was simply brought to me, our safe activated etc, It was a very quick and easy process. It didn’t have any negative effect on our holiday, as it was dealt with so professionally. The cleaners and staff helped us move and brought us the odd thing which we’d forgotten. The apartment we moved to was the same but mirrored, just as clean- no complaints at all. To continue with the water theme, it seems the hotel then had pipe issues. A pipe burst in the reception ceiling flooding the foyer, again this was dealt with so quickly and efficiently we barely noticed, by the time we’d come back down from our room it was as if nothing had happened! Fantastic organisation from the maintenance, management and cleaning teams it seems. The pool area was just beyond a fab Dutch bar at the bottom of the hotel accessed by a code- it was small but very clean and tidy, though we only used it once to cool down as the beach is genuinely just as close to the hotel as the pool is (beach is literally across the road- 30 second walk). The charming little Dutch bar next door is fantastic. I’m not sure if this is connected to the hotel but it is accessible from inside. We never ate here but the cocktails were fab and such good value. Worth a visit for sure. I think the hotel is partially tourist apartments and partially private ownership/rental and it was quite quiet when we visited, not sure how busy it would get in peak season (summer hols) especially with the pool being small. Location here is fantastic and is really a major selling point for the apartments. We usually stay up near the Miramar, so it was vastly different for us being so central. Turn right or left out the hotel and you’ll find plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. Fish alley is a 5 min walk away though it’s fairly touristy so venture down the backstreets of Los Boliches for some more authentic local restaurants serving some fantastic cuisine. We did the boat trip from the harbour (5 mins walk away) to Benalmadena Costa. It was about an hour each way and is a lovely trip. Honestly so nice and relaxing. Benalmadena itself (around the harbour) is not actually very nice. Very British and the multitude of empty restaurants are literally begging you to eat inside (I’d imagine because Benalmadena is largely All Inclusive), though we only really did this for the boat ride and was well worth it to be fair. Some nice little shops to peruse but avoid the eateries. We walked down into La Carihuela, which is nice. Lovely beach and nice shops. More traditional. To complete my review I’ll say that we got excellent value for money at the Stella Maris, self catering is all you need with a huge supermarket literally behind the apartments. The location cannot be faulted at all and we wouldn’t hesitate to return, in fact we are very keen to return in the very near future. Thanks once again for having us and we hope to see you soon Max and Myles.…
We stayed at the stella maris for 11 days in June. Reception was a quick check-in. There are 4 lifts which are a bit small. 4 people and their full. As soon as your though the door on the right their are 3 large double wardrobes so plenty of space for her clothes lol and a good amount of coat hangers. On the left is the bathroom and toilet. The bath is very small and I mean small thankfully it has a shower. The toilet is right up against the sink so not very comfortable to sit on. When we first entered the bathroom there was a bad smell ( I think it was the drains) but it seemed to go after a few days ( or we just got used to it ). Ok the bedroom/kitchen. The kitchen is small but has everything you need if you fancy staying in and cooking. 2 ring hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and a good amount of crockery. The flat is a bit on the small side but we only used it to sleep in and get ready so it wasn't a problem. The balcony is an ok size with a table and chairs and room to move around The thing that makes this hotel is definitely the view It's worth staying there just for that.…
We stayed in a studio apartment in Stella Maris for 10 nights and had a wonderful stay. We were given a front sea view studio with a nice balcony and wonderful views. The studio was bright and clean and had lots of storage and enough power sockets for changing devices. The kitchen had all you would need, fridge, microwave, 2 ring electric hob, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. Bathroom had stand alone shower with great water pressure. Restaurant had good choice of food and drink served by friendly staff. The shop is open until midnight and a ATM outside. Overall a great stay.
