We spent New Year in Nazare and stayed in the Hotel Mare. So pleased that we did! A lovely hotel in a perfect location with all facilities in the room you could wish for - tea/coffee making facilities in the lobby for you to use. Good hair-dryers and toiletries in each room, balcony and stunning views out to seam, rooms were quiet. Car parking which is secure and off-site. Staff warm, welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast in the morning was plenty and of an excellent quality. Good value for money. Would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend. Thank you for making our stay in Nazare such a perfect one! Jill & Warren x
Just come home from having a lovely stay at Hotel Mare, Nazare. Stayed for 3 nights wish it could have been longer. The Hotel is stylish clean and comfortable, the room was very clean comfortable and warm, which is good as this time of year it's now turning a little chilly. The continental Breakfast was really nice, lots of fresh fruit, the coussants were delicious, the coffee suburb, and what a lovely dining room to eat it in, its set up on the top floor with views over the town, and the Ocean, and the lady looking after us in the dining room was very nice, making sure the food was replenished! All the Hotel staff were very friendly and approachable, and very efficient. This is a hotel we will definitely be coming back to.
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and the rooms were very clean and comfortable with a great shower. The car park was quite a walk up hill to get to but it was under cover for a fee. Very good location to walk to all things in Nazare
We had therecnice 1 day stay , location is perfect , atmosphere was great , friendly stuff but a bit slow on check out , breakfast was acceptable but minimalistic , some street noice all night .. if you want open window
We were shocked by the number of people and by how crowded Nazaré was! Our guide book described a sleepy town which it is NOT! Our GPS took us 2 blocks past the hotel so we had some difficulty finding a place to leave our car so we could walk back to find the hotel. Once there, we were told how to drive around the block to park in front of the hotel to unload our car. The woman manning the front desk was impatient and sarcastic. At one point she said “do what you want” as she shrugged her shoulder. I’m trying to take it as a language barrier but it came across as not friendly at all. When I asked about gluten free options for breakfast she was again exasperated with me and said I needed to have given them 2-3 days notice and she wasn’t sure they could accommodate me. I told her I was sure I could find fruit and eggs to eat. She just looked at me. The room itself was very small. Only one person could walk at a time around the bed to get into or out of the bath. Our room was street side and very noisy. We were awakened several times during the night by vehicles or people yelling and singing in the street. The bed was uncomfortable, but clean We were thankful for the AC! Breakfast turned out to be nice. They did indeed have gluten free bread for me. And it was a full breakfast with many offerings. Oh! The parking!..... they offer a locked parking garage. For 5 euros. It is a 500 meter walk UPHILL!!! The hotel is a short, 2 minute walk to the beach and to many bars and restaurants. If you are looking for a quaint, relaxing get away, Nazaré and the hotel are probably not for you. IF you are looking for a close hotel to the beach, bars, and restaurants, I believe you might be satisfied. We would not return. …
"Ask for higher up rooms for a quieter experience as Nazare is up all through the night. Make sure your room has a functioning safe."Read full review
